1997 Albums worth listening to (in my humble opinion):

Ixnay On The Hombre, The Offspring. One of the only new bands that has tickled my fancy. New label? Bah, good hard punk-like stuff.

Hear In The Now Frontier, Queensryche. If you've liked their other albums, you're sure to like this one. Somewhat of a mix between Empire and Promised Land.

Handsome, Handsome. Metal/rock band with former members of Quicksand and Helmet. Good mix, but takes some getting used to.

The Horse That Bud Bought, Galactic Cowboys. Fantastic album by the Cowboys. Good metal mixed with excellent harmonies.

High, Flotsam and Jetsam. Awesome effort from the metal band. Heavy.

Drivin' N' Cryin', Drivin' N' Cryin. They're on an independent label, and sound great. This album sounds a lot like Mystery Road and earlier albums.

Best of King's X, King's X. The band's last album for Atlantic Records. Good selection of hits, plus three new songs and a 10 minute live version of "Over My Head".
