The Mystic Gryphon carries many hand made items by practitioners of the Craft. Shown below are just a few items which are made by Montgomery-area witches. Each item is hand crafted, Goddess & God blessed. Each item came about through a different specific need. The Crafters

Michelle - Michelle is the owner of The Mystic Gryphon. She has been in business for over eight years serving the Montgomery pagan community and has been a practicing member of the Craft for nearly 20 years. Michelle makes many of the products carried in her store including Magickal Oils, Incense Sticks and Magickal Candles. Michelle lovingly blends essential oils to create out of this world magickal mixtures. The Magickal oils can be purchased by the dram, as stick incense, in candle form and on special request as cone incense and bath salts. Once you try one of Michelle's blends everything else will seem bland by comparision.

Mama Mitzi - Mama Mitzi is a member of The Temple of Divine Mysteries, has been a practitioner of the craft for many years and helps out in the store in her spare time.

PhilBear - PhilBear is a member of The Temple of Divine Mysteries, has been a practition of the craft for over fifteen years and also helps out in the store in his spare time. He is also responsible for creating and maintaining The Mystic Gryphon web site.

Rev. M. Michelle Griffin

Michelle makes her own blends of essential oils for specific magickal use. A list of the commonly found flavors she makes can be found in the Incense section of this web site. The oils are normally sold by the dram. Michelle uses only the finest, uncut oils for her blends. Nearly all of the oils are all natural. Some flavors, such as honeysuckle, can only be synthetically produced. Many other stores and people will cut thier oils with some expanding agent. The cut oil is usually sold in larger quantities. Some stores will cut an oil, sell it in larger quantities (price may or may not reflect cutting) and not tell you that the oil is uncut unless specifically questioned. Unfortunately, you can never be sure what the oil was cut with. If you use the oil for another purpose you may find that the cutting agent prevents the use of the oil in certain applications. This is part of the reason that Michelle refuses to cut her oil (even though she could make more money by cutting the oil). She also feels that cutting the oil takes away from the product due to other "scents" which are introduced by the cutting agent. Michelle will only sell the finest products to her customers at extremely reasonable prices! The oils can be worn, burned over charcoals, placed in a ring burner for a lamp, made into candles, bath salts, and the list of possible uses grows continuously. Another speciality of The Mystic Gryphon is hand made incense sticks. Each incense stick is hand made by applying Michelle's specially blended oils on a punk (stick) by eye dropper. Once the oil is applied to the stick, the stick is then blessed by the power of the Goddess and God, and charged with the particulary energy of the blended oil. If store bought, mass produced incense leaves you choking for breath and rushing to air out your living space then try Michelle's incense. Her unique method of creating incense produces a delicate scent which carries magickal energies throughout the area. Sticks are sold individually and by the pack (a pack is 13 sticks).

Mama Mitzi produces her own line of candles which come in round and votives. All of her candles are lovelingly hand made with her own blend of essential oils. Round candles run $7.00 and votives run $3.00. Pictured above (L-R) are:

Shown above are some of Mama Mitzi's special bath salts. Each bath salt is prepared for a different purpose. Ever get a bump, a rash, a boo-boo that needs special attention? Well, this salve will certain help the healing process. In addition, it also assists with the lightening of scar lines. The salve is made with a comfrey base and contains other healing herbs.

PhilBear started reading runes about five years ago. Unfortunately, the only runes to be found were mass produced. While these runes worked, he always wanted something with a little more personal touch. To this end, he began fashioning his own rune sets. The rune sets are available in either Pine or Poplar (two excellent divinatory woods) and come in either round or square chits. The rune sets run $25.00 and take approximately 10 hours a piece to create.

If you have pets, and have tried to burn stick incense, you may have found that animals are fascinated not only by magick but by incense. After having his wonderful cats bump into the small, light weight, stick burners available at any store, PhilBear decided to make his own incense burner. PhilBear's burners are aproximately 13 inches long by 3 inches wide. In addition, the burner is wide enough to catch the ash from the incense if it falls to either one side or the other. He has several types of designs available. The incense burners are hand made from pine wood and sell for between $12 and $25 (cost depends on the type and the amount of time to make the burner). These burners are large, heavy and solid. In addition, all burners are either dual or quad burners meaning that you can burn multiple sticks at once. The quad burner is ideal for a person with little space who wishes to use a stick for each quarter when casting circle.
