Roark-Conner Family Records On Microfilm

a letter from Clara W. Swann, Chattanooga Library, Local History and Genealogy Department

I am pleased to be able to report the filming of the additional materials delivered to us by John Roark for inclusion in the Roark-Conner Association Papers has been completed. This completes filming of all of the records we have in our possession.

Any of your members who wish to purchase copies should contact the Tennessee State Library and Archives (TSLA), Restoration and Reproduction, 403 Seventh Avenue, North, Nashville, TN 37243-0312. The collection is filmed as the Roark-Conner Family Papers, TSLA Mf. Acc. No. 1518. There are seven reels to the collection. Reels 1-5 contain the material filmed in 1997. Reels 6-7 which constitute the recent filming are referred to as Addition 1 of Mf. Acc. No. 1518. Cost of the microfilm is $15.00 per reel. TSLA requires prepayment so anyone wishing to order copies should contact them to ascertain any other charges such as shipping and handling. TSLA's number is (615) 741-2997.

For your members who would like to borrow the films on interlibrary loan, they will need to request them through their local public library who will submit the request to TSLA. The library should request the Roark-Conner Association Papers, TSLA Mf. Acc. No. 1518.

If you have any questions regarding the collection, please feel free to contact me at (423) 757-5317.

We look forward to your visit in October.

Sincerely,
Clara W. Swann,
