Fall 2008
It's hard to believe it's Fall already, especially with this beautiful sunny weather here in Brooklyn. I love Fall weather, so bring it on! I'm not sure if I'm ready to start September yet. My alarm clock broke and I have been taking my time about replacing it (but that's not the big news of the day).
One bit of music news is that some of my recorded music is now available at TripleScoopMusic.com so it can be licensed for use in video. It's for professionals as well as everyone else, so if you're making a family video and hear the perfect track for it, this is the place. I also have music available at pumpaudio.com which is more for film and tv type things - but just so you know....oh, and for all those string players out there there is a picture of guitarist Elkin Brown and me in the Shar music catalog (pg. 64) because we entered their photo contest.
and the biggest Fall news is that my band is going to Texas in November. The main reason we're going is for the World United Music Festival and Radio Conference (worldunitedmusicfestival.com) which is in San Marcos (Nov 16th), but we're also going to be playing in Austin20Texas at the Open Ears Concerts 11/15 (staopen.com). So more on this later as the details become clear. I think I am the only one in my band who has been to Texas and Vita (our guitarist) is always talking about how "Everything is so BIG in America", so this could be fun.
I started thinking about what I have done in Texas (I went to a classical music Festival there for a few years in RoundTop) and also all the great songwriters that have come out of Texas. I made an imix on itunes called "Texas Songs" that has some of my favorite songs, and of course I had to put my version of "Streets of Laredo/Down by the Brazos (Texas River Song) on it too. I had almost forgot I had recorded that it was so long ago, but it's one of my favorites.
So look for us in Texas!
