ROCKTV(tm):
Amateur Rocketry & Amateur TV
Compiled and Edited by Rick Darby KE4NJX
Objective:
These web pages are to serve as a resource list for those interested in furthering the pursuit of both amateur rocketry and amateur TV (ATV). The vision here is a future where individuals and small groups can afford to own and pilot their own space vehicles via remote control. A time when we may perform personal tasks in space. Where via remote control we may explore the moon, asteroids, neighboring planets, and eventually objects beyond our own solar system. The mission of these pages to help promote the production of low-cost remotely piloted amateur rockets. Realizing that even the most modest systems being contemplated for human-on-board rocket flight will cost a fortune, remotely piloted vehicles provide a true alternative for space exploration within the reach of many individuals and small groups.
These pages will keep a list of resources of information and parts available to implement amateur telemetry systems. This includes, but is not limited, to amatuer television. Other related topics of interest include automated navigational systems, inertial guidance systems, amatuer satellite communications, and digital telemetry. Rocket propulsion subsystems, rocket design, will not be covered directly. There are many exciting things happening in these arenas being covered by other excellent groups. We will refer the reader to these groups and provide hyperlinks as appropriate.
