His post-announcement upset our County Attorney who was hoping the deal he cut with the Bishop would prompt him to make some drastic changes in the churches and priests he supervises. The Bishop had signed a confession that he covered up child abuse cases by shuffling his priests from parish to parish. Yet he has never “placed a child in harm’s way!” Who can believe him?

To make matters even worse, on June 16 he was arrested for a hit-and-run accident. The man he hit was killed. An eye-witness identified his car and license plate number. The police arrested him and impounded his car. The right front windshield was shattered. He could have avoided legal problems by stopping instead of running, as the victim was apparently crossing the street illegally. The Bishop made another big mistake.

He reported to the police that he thought he had struck an animal. Get real, Bishop O’Brien! How could he have thought he struck an animal when part of a man’s body is thrust across part of his windshield? Another lie. Tell one lie and a dozen more are required to cover it up. But to beat it all, he is reported to have made a phone call to a windshield repairman shortly after the impact. Why the rush, if it was only an animal?

Another interesting matter is that the local newspaper reported that of the 11 Hispanic priests in the Phoenix area who are under the Bishop’s jurisdiction, 8 of them are either homosexual or pedophilia. I see no possible way the Roman Catholic Church can salvage itself. She is pregnant with depraved priests and bishops and cardinals. This “Holy See” is controlled by some of the unholiest men on earth.

Lest you think I’m picking on Catholicism, rest assured that Protestantism has its share of vile clerics in the likes of Jim Bakers and Jimmy Swaggerts. But nothing compared to the unholy portals of Catholicism. A large segment of Catholicism is a “spiritual whorehouse,” as recent investigations and revelations have shown. Now you know one of the many reasons why I refuse to be labeled either a Protestant or a Catholic. My future is to continue being a “believer at large,” not a believer plus a Protestant, and not a believer plus a Catholic.

To put it another way, I have a “soap box.” Don’t we all? The color of your “soap box” may not match mine, but we each have one. I’ll stick around while you preach from your “soap box” if you’ll stick around while I preach from mine. I’m not asking that you endorse my message. I ask only that you give me a hearing.

I hope not to leave the impression that all Catholic clerics are sexually depraved. I have thus far expressed my sentiments in general terms, which might lead some of you to that conclusion. As I noted earlier:

Recent dispatches and investigations have confirmed that Catholicism is a haven for homosexuals and pedophiles. A large number of her ecclesiastical leaders are sexual deviants. These are facts, not rumors. The investigations and revelations are reality, not hear-say. I’ll give you one paragon among many others.

Santa Fe, New Mexico is a relatively small town of 68,000 residents. In the 1990s, a respected Catholic Bishop was sent there to “clean up the church.” This is the same Bishop who was transferred to Phoenix to clean up the sexual clutter Bishop Thomas O’Brien left behind. In the process of his cleaning up the sexual mess at Santa Fe, he dismissed 20 homosexual and pedophile priests.

Yes, you’re reading me correctly. Twenty priests in a town of only 68,000 were guilty of homosexuality and child abuse. The Catholic hierarchy had to pay out millions of dollars in law suits. For those of you who feel I have exaggerated my “press releases,” this is only scratching the surface of the problem within the mis-named “Holy See.”

I must state clearly what is on my heart. The Roman Catholic hierarchy was devised, not by a righteous God who destroyed whole cities that had wallowed in perverted sex, but by the satanic forces of evil and corruption. Protestantism is not too far behind. Now you know all over again why I have chosen to place my entire allegiance in the Man Jesus. For me, the institutional church is out—forever!

When this church’s leaders can preside over the “Eucharist,” or “christen” a small child, and then exit the “Sanctuary” to sodomize a male youngster or rape a small girl, it is time to outlaw the system that breeds such hellish trash. Outlaw it. Condemn it. Abolish this system from the face of the earth. For if world governments do not do it, God will.

I don’t need to spell out my reasons for believing that the modern-day religious establishment has drifted beyond return and is damaged beyond repair. You may rest your oars that heaven is not the author of these bizarre endeavors within the organized church. Satan is in control. He has infiltrated the Christian community with all manner of wickedness and depravity, the Episcopal and Catholic Churches being crowning examples.

In the name of the Lord these perverted clerics and “politically correct” leaders are endeavoring to overturn and set aside God’s proclamations on homosexuality and incest. It has reached a point that the world looks like the church and the church looks like the world. In fact, our once great Republic is looking more attractive than the "church!" It is no surprise, then, when unbelievers resist “religion” in favor of their own way of life.

I have said before, and I’ll repeat it here: Unless the religious establishment or institutional church undergoes complete reform, she is on her way out. Unless she’s redeemed, some future historian will write a history on “The Rise and Fall of Western Christianity.” Without regeneration, the organized church will self-abort.

The activities, movements, and efforts of the first believers were unskilled, ordinary, unsophisticated, and informal—although serious and edifying. Our contemporary arrangement is perplexing, rehearsed, organized to the brim, ritualistic, formalistic, boring, and pregnant with immorality

As most everyone is elected to some church office or committee, there is no one left to enhance the practical aspect of the program! So the officers go around in circles, involving themselves in paper work, organizing meetings, filling speaking engagements, and otherwise doing nothing to convert the world. The world keeps hanging, if only by a thread, waiting for “Christians” to toss it the lifejacket of salvation. But no! Institutional religion is too busy keeping her churches and organizations and committees afloat to bother with the Great Commission.

Millions are waiting for someone to bring them the message of salvation, but the institutional church sits around creating more organizations and committees to implement the ones that have already become dormant and stale. And if that isn’t enough, she spends time and money on conventions to decide whether or not to embrace homosexuality and incest! Until the modern church becomes more interested in more people, until she moves away from Satan’s concoctions and draws closer to the Lord Jesus, she will remain out of the people business. Do I see any hope for her? Not even a thimble full.

And are those duped believers allowed to tour his “Holy Cathedral”—the Cathedral they themselves paid for—free-of-charge? Absolutely not! They all are charged a fee. I know. I’ve been there. No, I haven’t contributed a dime toward his glass house and ministry—and never shall. But I wanted to see the “works of man’s hands,” although “God does not live in temples built by [man’s] hands” (Acts 17:25). I got in line only to discover that a big fee was expected. I fell out of line immediately and walked away!

Modern-day religion is for the birds. You may rest assured that this scribe has no religion. But he surely has a relationship! And that relationship is with a man called Jesus. Praise and worship His Holy Name—nothing or no one else.

In the same context, Paul says this system will be made up of those who have “abandoned the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (v. 1). Tell me, which religious system best fits this description? The pope and the papacy. There can be no denial. The symptoms are there. Until the Catholic Hierarchy accepts what God has instituted and permits her clerics to marry and live a normal life, her problems will simply multiply.

Glory be! What in Sodom’s name is wrong with these Hollywood and TV celebrities? If a voyeur or exhibitionist “came out of the closet” and announced publicly, “I can't help it, I was born that way,” he would be the laughing stock of the nation. But when a “celebrated” homosexual goes public, he’s applauded by the liberal media and paraded down every household’s livingroom as a hero and role model. Something here doesn’t jive. Let’s see if we can figure it out.

The homosexual lobby in America has its strong arm thrust into every segment of our society, particularly the entertainment and educational institutions. They have polluted and defiled most major sectors of our nation with their perverted philosophy. Consequently, it is to their social advantage to “empty their closets” and inform the populace of their depraved lifestyle. They are actually encouraged to do so by the “powers that be” within the homosexual movement.

They are trying hard—and their efforts have been largely successful—to convince the younger generation that their perverted lifestyle is acceptable and no different from the lifestyle of heterosexuals. “Publicity” is the key motive and force behind their public disclosures. And our younger generation is being suckered in and brainwashed by the likes of Sodom and Gomorrah.
