Boskone 35: The Hotel Experience

By Robin Holly ttto Waltzing Matilda

When we went to Boskone, someone said "The Tara's full."
And it always charges inordinately
If you'll share a room, we'll find one at a cheaper place
Will you come to Boskone and share rooms with me?

Chorus Going to Boskone, going to Boskone, going to Boskone
And doing it cheap
(Repeat last two lines of verse after the chorus.)

The reservations desk, said they had a swimming pool
Hot tub and treadmill, all of them free
So I got out my bathing suit, went looking for the swimming pool
Found a chlorinated bathtub with space for three
Spoken: (No, I didn't confuse it with the hot tub. That was smaller yet.)

Breakfast at the buffet looked to be an awesome deal
We'd get a meal with servings generously
But they were out of plates, French toast, hash and waffle mix
Which you cooked for yourself individually.
Spoken: (Yes, there was a waffle maker and little bottles of batter right there on the buffet. Cook for yourself.)

The moral of the story, when staying at the cheap hotel
There are bound to be inconveniencies
You get what you pay for, when the room rate's twenty bucks (!)
If you want to do it next year, it's okay with me!
