Gattaca Hymn

by Kate Holly-Clark (ttto: I Wonder as I Wander by John Jacob Niles)

I wonder as I wander out under the sky
And dream of the stars both so far and close by
Short-sighted in body, my heart wants to fly
Stars burn their image-- in my open eye

Science says stars rain down on us each day
Their dust in the wind, I can taste them and pray
That dreams made of stardust are solid with wings
That raise me to heaven-- beyond earthly things

Give me your crippled, your weak and your poor
The watchers of stars and the wishers for more
A handful of stardust, a dream of the moon
The stars reach out for us-- and will touch us soon.
