| Well, I've pretty much decided I like the space control role I've been playing in thepast few games. Control here, escort there, ogg this, et cetera. Of course, I havethe worst lag in almost every game, so I die quite a bit.

It makes me proud, though, when I can tie up four of the best players in the game forthe 10 seconds it takes for the carrier to pass behind me. I love to det. I would loveto see the looks on the faces of people I det for. Imagine this: In pickup, Kf gets a kill,but he's hurt in the process. Here comes nasty Mister Romulan, throwing torps and generallybeing pissy. I fly up in the nick of time, det the torps, and scare off the ROM.Just imagine the stunned amazement on Kf's face. If I can do that, and help my team,I don't mind dying.

That's the thing that get's me about people who tell me I die too much. I know I die,and I know why. I die because I help my team. I like to die detting torps for someonewith kills or armies. I like to die on top of an enemy BB, while detting for my BB that's behind me and about to cream him. Hell, I det and die for my starbase, even when he is plainly in no danger. You see, I knowsomething all the clue giving me advice don't. I'm going to die anyway. It's a given. Look at this formula

Success% = Lag * Skill

100

Where:

Lag = Latency in milliseconds * ( 1.00 + C->S Packet Loss%)

And 0 <= Skill <= 100

You see, it's obvious. I suck; I have shitty lag; I will die. QED. Simple.

Still, I get, "You die too much. Do <Pet Strategy>."Bullshit. I will die quite a bit, no matter what strategy or tactics I use. Numbersdon't lie. So I try to make my death count. That's my <Pet Strategy>. I guess you could call it,
 The Die With Honor Manifesto
 WE THE TWINKS of the Netrek Universe, being a detriment to the chances of victory on all teams everywhere, do here by proclaim our right and intended action to the causeof dying with honor.

THEREFORE the following tenants are established for the community of twinks wishing to Die With Honor. Follow them closely, and you, too, will be welcomedin games all over this land.
| 1. Always fly the right ship for the right job.

 4. Always use the <CTRL> + <KEY> RCD macros and not personalized macros.
 5. Use BeepLite if your client and the server support it.
 6. Create or find a good keymap and use it.
 7. If you are less skilled than your teammates, have five or more planets, andno one is bombing, bomb.
 8. If you are less skilled than your teammates, and have a bomber or are down tofour or less planets, control.
 9. If you are less skilled than your teammates, have a bomber, and you have fiveor more planets, escort. 10. If it is obvious that you are more skilled than most of your teammates, take.
 11. Notice which enemies are taking.
 12. Never give a kill to an enemy who will use it, always mutual.
 13. Know when and how to cripple instead of kill an enemy.
 14. Always have the playerlist visible, especially the number of kills.
 15. Rotate the galaxy so that the war is the way you like it, be that Up and Downor Left and Right.
