SISTERS
a group poem by the women in Jobstart 3
a child running in circles in
the hall
a woman grabbing another woman
from behind, lifting her off the rug
a woman sitting on a couch
a woman devouring a bologna sandwich,
a bitter, stale gummi rabbit
“It’s never been about you.”
the soothing taste of
cinnamon
slivered almonds splashing the creamy,
sweet icing of a cake
yellow roses glistening with sunlight
“You’re a good listener.”
