Well, it was all started by Alan Fleming in 1992. Alan, missing the
charm of the RCR, decided a smaller mini RCR needed to be held in the South East later in the summer.
Thus, he organized the Assault on Deals Gap. Essentially a bunch of Denizens and SE-Riders
assemble at COT (Cross Roads of Time) and run the gap or other such things.
Deals gap is a mountain pass that cuts through the Appalachian Mountains at the very bottom of the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. US 129 (the interesting part is in yellow) crosses the gap and in the space of 11 miles there are 319 curves making it extremely twisty. This is why they call it the Dragon. The Gap lies on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. Tapoco is the closest town and is due south of Knoxville on your map.
