In War there is no second prize for the runner up

Omar Bradley

One of my more sedentary hobbies is wargaming. Specifically miniature wargaming. I prefer combined arms tactics with artillery, heavy armour, mechanized infantry, and tactical air support. Naval games have interested me to some extent, but I have yet to buy any significant material for those games.

Dirtside II

I now play Dirtside to get my 1/285 - 1/300 scale fix. I started back in 1996 and have not looked back at Epic. I use a combination of figs from Ral-Partha's BattleTech line, GHQ's Micro-Armour, CMD and Geo-Hex Futurewars.

I have been working on making a few things for Dirtside II. Including my Page, tell me what you think if you war game.

Micro Armour

I have only played micro armour a few times over the years, however I do like the figures.

I also collect WWII British equipment, though I've not placed photos of my gear on the page. I currently have bits of web gear, Battle Dress, and two Enfields (a No4Mk1 and a Jungle Carbine plus a few others).

Why I hate Games Workshop

I have played GW games since the days of Rogue Trader for 40K. Back then the cost for figures was relatively on par with everyone else ($1-2 per figure). I have an extensive collection of Dwarves (Squats) for 40K, Epic, Fantasy, and Man of War. I won't play these games for now inprotest of the cost and multiple changes in the rules. 2 years ago I tired of the spiraling prices, "everflux" rules and lack of long term consistency.

Until they rectify the constant changes in rules and obscene figure prices I will not buy another games workshop figure or game. At this time I prefer to spend my time painting for DS. If you have followed any of their games for any length of time, you would understand my position.
