2001 Caudill Cabin
Restoration Project

by Lenny Caudill

Pictured above are members of the National Park Service
Restoration Team fabricating new floor planks by hewning
a new board from an old log.

Each board must be cut and fit by hand. It took about 45 minutes
to "create" a board approximately 3 feet long. The workers would
trade off labor shifts.
