| My sister, Marci, had a cousins party and camp over. We watched the OU-Texas games Saturday, threw the Frisbee around and went four wheeling, of course. Her house is on 40 acres of land that my parents own and on that land are two ponds. You knew there had to be something like that on it or else there wouldn't be a web page. As we know, all good four-wheeling adventures end either stuck or broke. If you get home without getting stuck or broke then you went home too early. | |

We had driven thru this particular spot on the edge of the pond probably ten times before getting stuck. Each time we drove thru we made the ruts a little deeper until finally there was no escape. I think the depth of the ruts caused the Jeep to essentially become high centered. The force required to drag the underside thru the mud was greater than the available traction. |

The right side was sunk a little deeper than the left. The water line cleared the top of the rims which means at least 24" of mud and water (33" tires, 15" rims). |
| The great thing about getting stuck at my sisters place is that dad parks his bull dozer behind her house! | |
|
Right after we got stuck my younger sisters new boy friend just so happened to drive up driving a new Chevy 4x4! "Great!" we thought. But unfortunately his truck's four wheel drive was not working and he got stuck on the wet grass before even attempting to tug on the Jeep! We were able to push him far enough that he could drive out. Like a rock. Yep. |
|
| After the Chevy couldn't do anything we just walked back to my sisters house which was about 200 feet away. This was about the most convenient "getting stuck" I have ever been involved in. Once back at the house we stayed up and enjoyed beer, laughs and a bonfire. | |
| I drained a little oil at my sisters to check for water and mud before driving home. It seemed ok but I changed the oil anyways since Keystone memories are still fresh. :) |
