Multimedia is now coming in a over thirty-one flavors on the Web with more being invented every day. Unfortunately, you need plug-in and add-ons to make each one of them work. Requirement generally include WINDOWS 95, a 28.8 modem, and either MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 4.0 or NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR 4.0. MacroMedia Shockwave is an absolute must, as is RealAudio 5.0. After that, it's your tolerance for downloading files and your hard drive's size. Check out these sites to see multimedia "on the edge."

RealAudio's Newest Product is Incredible

  • RealAudio Home Page RealAudio continues to innovate at a rapid pace. Their newest product Real Jukebox is simply awesome! It plays and records in either RealAudio or MP3. It looks up every CD you play or record on the Internet and provides complete information - title, artist, etc. The product is in beta and it's free. This is must-have software for anyone on the Internet!!

    The Music Match Logo

  • Music Match A tough competitor for RealAudio (above) is Music Match. Their JukeBox is generally getting better reviews for MP3 recording and Playback. It's a free 30 minute download at 28.8. And, like RealAudio, there is a 29.95 upgrade. The standard version allows encoding at the RealAudio JukeBox rate of 96kps. With the upgrade you can record at 128kps, which is really the standard among MP3 junkies.

    MIDI Music Resources

  • The Classical MIDI ArchivesThe Classical MIDI Archives As of March 27, 2000, Peter Schwob had collected 9147 Classical Music files in MIDI Format from 648 Composers. But the collection grows each day. Every effort has been made to organize the site and make it easy to navigate, but the site is so big it is still tough to find a specific selection.

  • Lanny Chamber's Hummingbird Site MIDI MUSIC Section - NEW URL Here's a neat little find for the MIDI Music Fan. The Internet's Premier Hummingbird Expert also transcribes MIDI Music onto the Net. These are some of the best done and most intricate MIDI transcriptions we've found on the Internet.

  • Bob's JukeBox Favorites Bob has gathered together a great collection of very high quality MIDI files with lots of contempory and "golden oldie" favorites.

  • The Cowdance Giant Midi List Never been to the Cowdance? Well your missing a "rare" treat, if you'll pardon the pun. So many people kept sending creator Jason Neester midi files he was finally buried under them all. He set up a master file and them just dropped them in here - he's not even sure if they all work. But if you're looking for something, you'll probably find it here!
