Professional's Guide To Robust Shreadsheets Extras

I had to cut out some useful material out of my Professional's Guide To Robust Shreadsheets book in order to make the book the correct size. Rather than discarding that useful material, I am positing it here for interested readers. If you find this information useful, you may want to consider purchasing the book.

Worksheets From Book

Building Better Worksheets uses a number of sample worksheets to make its points. Since the book does not come with a diskette, I have posted the files here for easy access. You can download just the specific files you want by clicking on each one so you do not have to wait for all the files to download. If you do not want to wait on the download, this page also describes how you can order a diskette of all these files by mail.

Creating Custom Lotus Dialog Boxes

Lotus allows you to build custom dialog boxes that your macros can then use to get information from the user. This page will show you how to create custom dialog boxes.

This Web page uses about 100K of graphic images of worksheets. This will slow the loading of this page. Keep this in mind in deciding to read this page.

Alter Or Replace The Lotus Menu

Lotus allows you to alter its menus by adding your own menu option. It also allows you to replace its menu system with a menu system of your own design. This page will show you how.

This Web page uses about 32K of graphic images of worksheets. This will slow the loading of this page. Keep this in mind in deciding to read this page.

Macro Virus

Lotus macros are simple programs. They are simply to write and simple to use. However, they can contain destructive commands. As a result, it is fairly easy to write a Lotus macro. This page will show you how to reconize a Lotus macro virus and how to protect yourself.

While the subject of this page is strictly Lotus macro viruses, many other programs offer a macro language with similar distructive powers. Even if you do not use Lotus, you may want to review this page to help you spot possible viruses in the macros for other programs you use.
