;************** EPIC with WIN95 If you hit reset at anytime you will have to go back to a DOS window or full-screen and rerun LOADEPIC to make sure the analogs are mapped back to the game port 201h (The bars in TESTEPIC or TEST128) 1. Change to Windows\INF directory. COPY JOYSTICK.INF JOYSTICK.OLD COPY JOYSTICK.INF from R&R \EPIC directory to Windows\INF directory Shutdown and reboot. In DOS mode run LOADEPIC with a file that has all axii enabled and 4 Gamebuttons active. Usually DEFAULT. You must have at least 1 gamebutton to calibrate. B0on{buttonpress(0)} B0off{buttonrelease(0)} definebutton(xx,on,B0on) definebutton(xx,off,B0off) where xx is the button number you want to use for calibration. You should create gamebuttons 1,2,3 also but this is not necessary for calibration. 2. Run TEST128 and verify 4 game buttons work. Select Analogs, make sure all 4 bars at the bottom window move. 3. EXIT back to WIN95 If you have Media Vision Proaudio Spectrum card- a. START-SETTINGS-CONROL PANEL-SYSTEM b. select DEVICE MANAGER-SOUND,VIDEO,GAME CONTROLLERS c. select the pro audio line. PROPERTIES. At the SETTINGS tab uncheck Enable Gameport You may have to remove the sound card from the list and from the computer and install EPIC first if WIN95 keeps taking EPIC out of the DEVICE MANGER list. If you have AWE32 PNP (Good Luck!! Here) same as "a" and "b" above c. select GAMEPORT JOYSTICK and uncheck Original Configuation. DELL XPS200 - Remove AWE32 from SYSTEM-CONTROL PANEL-SYSTEM-SOUND,VIDEO,GAME CONTROLLERS Shut down. When you reboot: Remove sound from CMOS setup In WIN95 install EPIC by instructions below. Make sure you can calibrate in CONTROL PANEL-JOYSTICK Shut down and reboot. Put sound back in thru CMOS setup. Reboot. Win95 should find new hardware (sound) and install software for it. It should find a conflict with EPIC. Uncheck Original Configuartion for the sound card as specified below. Recheck EPIC still working thru CONTROL PANEL-JOYSTICK 4. Select SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL-Add New Hardware-NEXT- answer NO to search- NEXT- Sound,Video, game controllers - R&R Electronics-EPIC game card - NEXT- NEXT- Finish Restart 5. Select Control Panel- System-Device manager- sound,video,game controllers- R&R Electronics EPIC game Card - PROPERTIES make sure Original Configuration IS checked- resources- make sure setting is for port 200h, 201h,202h-207h or 202h-20Fh, 280h-28Fh If port range is other than 280h-28Fh change to correct range. -OK-OK- Shutdown 6. Control Panel should have a JOYSTICK icon. Double click. Select custom on Joystick 1, select 4 axis 4 buttons. Calibrate and Test.
