Sunset in Seattle - Ballard Bridge
My new bed finally arrives today. Of course, the mattresses won't get here till tomorrow though. So, I'll have one more night on the little guest bed.
I'm going to L.A. this weekend. Haven't been in years.. but, i found a cheap ticket. So, I jumped on it. Saturday thru Tuesday. should be fun. I'll get to rollerblade on the strand; check out the l.a. apple store, blah blah blah..
It's another perfect day, weather wise. This is why I live in Seattle. Summer here is amazing.

Apple has a new ad campaign. Even the mattress store where I bought my new stuff yesterday, has 3 iMacs running things: 2 old ones, and 1 of the cool, new designs.
Yes. I finally have a new bed. They're delivering it tomorrow. Can't wait to move back into the other room. Now, if I could just find some curtains.. and get rid of the futon in my garage.
The weather here is amazing. It's a crime to stay inside.
Yesterday, I tried to go to a SIFF movie. But, it was sold out. I guess I'll try for something on Thursday.. or maybe just buy tickets for next week. It sucks that it's so hard to get to see these things. Makes me want to stay home and rent DVDs.

Solar Eclipse
Next-door neighbor, Tyler, reminded me that there was a solar eclipse going on yesterday. He had brought out his welding shield so he could look at it. He passed it over the fence so I could take a look. I just took a quick glance. Pretty cool.. but, anticlimactic.

Dog Owner For A Day
I spotted the border collie running down the street towards Holman Rd... and I thought it was my next door neighbor, Sparky. So, as I was backing out of the driveway, I opened my door and called him over. Since he didn't bark his head off, I knew it couldn't be Sparky. But, I put him in the back seat and drove him over to my neighbor's driveway, just in case. Heather came outside, Sparky at her heels. So, it couldn't have been him. But, Heather didn't know where he belonged either. After a couple of hours of canvasing the neighborhood, I finally learned that Bradley belonged to somebody a few blocks away. The cute girl at the pet food store recognized him as belonging to her irresponsible neighbor. So, I left a note on the guy's door.. and took the dog back to my house to play frisbee. The neighbor didn't call until 2am. So, Bradley got to spend the night. Jeff, the owner, came to pick him up this morning. Can't wait to get my own dog. If the stupid owner hadn't called me, I would have just kept him. Bradley and I had a great time, while it lasted. It was fun to be a dog owner for a day.

Jackpot!
I won 3 bucks in the Saturday Lotto. I'm not a big lotto player. But, when it's over $13 million, I can't resist. So, now I get 3 more chances at the big prize!
I watched "Girl Interrupted" last night. What a fucking depressing movie. Winona was great though. For all those movies where I thought she was stiff, plain, and shallow,... she makes up for it in this one. God, she's beautiful. I might just have to put her back on my top 5 list.
I finally realized how lame it is to rent movies and watch them at home. It just does not compare to seeing it in the theatre. You lose so much by watching it on a tiny screen; ...by stopping and restarting every time the phone rings, or you have to pee, or you need a snack. DVDs are great, of course - you get the wide screen version, and the bonus commentary, deleted scenes, etc. But, you miss out on so much that the theatre experience provides.
I still don't have a bed. This is whack. It's like I live in my one bedroom apartment again. I don't even go in that room anymore. Must buy bed today.
