Is it Sunday yet??
My parents are still here. And, they're returning to Augusta tomorrow morning. So, I have just one more day to entertain them. I think we'll go check out U-Dub today, maybe drive out to Redmond, and to Snoqualmie if the weather stays clear. I thought it was going to rain. But, it has cleared up a bit.

They didn't seem too interested in the winery/brewery tour. So, maybe we'll drive up to Bainbridge Island and take the ferry back.

Never thought I'd look forward to the weekend ending.

"...One Weblog, Under God..."

What about equal time for Satanists? I think we should have left the pledge alone. In 1954, they added "under God" - but whose god were they talking about? And what about those of us who don't have any gods?

My Sprint phone is crapping out on a regular basis. I guess it's time to get my Pilot/phone soon. I've found that mime doesn't work too well over a pcs network.

Today, on the Family Values tour, we're going to Pike Place Market, and Chateau St. Michele / Red Hook brewery. Should be pretty fun. Dad pays for parking. So, that's always a good thing. He also buys the morning coffee. Also good.

Last night, we were supposed to go to Cafe Flora, but none of us were hungry. So, we ended up going to Grapes instead. Wine and cheese and fruit, soup, etc. That was our dinner. And, that was enough.

LandPhil Under Seige - Day 3

So far, so good. The parents got here Tuesday night after a long delay in Atlanta. We went straight to sleep, then had a full day of touristy stuff yesterday. (space needle, monorail, museum of flight, etc.) Today, we did the Locks cruise through the shipping canal, and around to Elliot Bay. Tonight, I'm dragging them to a vegetarian restaurant. I'm proud of them for being open to that. They even drank some espresso drinks yesterday. But, they're still pretty set in their ways. For instance, Dad wanted Budweiser instead of the hundreds of microbrews available to him.

Tomorrow, we'll probably tour the winery and Red Hook brewery.

Soon, it will be Sunday.

P-Day.
My parents arrive tonight. I haven't finished cleaning the house. And, I have a million things to do before they arrive. Oh well. I'm surprisingly calm about this. They usually drive me crazy within 24 hours. But, maybe things will be better with them on my turf. Wish me luck.

Tomorrow, we'll do the space needle, monorail, Ballard, Fremont, maybe Pike Place market. The next day, we're doing the Locks cruise, and maybe the brewery and winery.

Green Power
Does your city have a Green Power program? I don't think our government does enough to utilize renewable energy like solar and wind power. But, Seattle is attempting to change that. Seattle City Light customers can kick in an extra 3 7 or $10 to their bill each month. That money will be invested in alternative energy programs. I'm in for $3/month. But, I'll jack it up when I start making some more money. Find out if your city does something similar. And, if they don't.. ask them why not!?

Fremont Solstice Parade
This weekend is the Fremont Fair. I went to the parade yesterday, and met up with Bill, Neil, Dave, Amri, Heather, and Shara. Hot day. Got a sunburn.. needed shorts.. and sunscreen. Dropped Malia off at the airport at 11 a.m. (returned favor, I owe her many times I over) and planned to go home to get my bike and the shorts. But, time was short, traffic was bad; so, I parked near Gasworks and rollerbladed into Fremont. Without pads. Luckily, I didn't bust ass.

My dog came back. The runaway border collie named "Bradley" showed up in my neighborhood again yesterday. I might keep him this time. His stupid owner doesn't give a shit about him, apparently. He has a collar this time (choke chain); but still no tags. We played frisbee last night and this morning. He never barks. (like Sparky next door) But, he whimpers a lot. He's lonely, I guess.

Today, I'm cleaning the house.. and mowing the grass. It's cloudy and cool. Parents arrive in 2 days. Hopefully, I'll be ready. And, hopefully, it will be over quickly!
