This new horror movie starts tomorrow. If you type that domain into your browser, you'd think it would take you to the official movie web site, right? But, it doesn't! WTF? Why would you name your movie after somebody else's web site??

Lookie-lous
While FBI agents searched for the bodies of 2 missing girls in Oregon, huge crowds gathered to watch. Since when did searching for bodies become a spectator sport? Pretty sick, don't you think? "Woohoo! Break out the balloons and lawn chairs! It's a body-searching party!" Good times.
Toothpaste
Just because your toothpaste has stripes doesn't mean that it cleans your teeth any better than stripeless toothpaste.

Finally
My white trash next-door neighbors are moving out. WooHOo! They've got tons of people over there helping them get their stuff out right now. I met the owner they were renting from. He sold the house to his brother in law. Hopefully, the new couple that bought the place will be cool. Till they move in, it will be nice and quiet next door.

Happy Flash Friday
Ever listen to Tom Leykis? The guy is a riot. He's got some interesting views on dating/women/sex, etc. Check him out if he's available in your area. His radio show is on from 3-7, weekdays.
Ahhh, Seattle.
Did you know Perry Como has a song about Seattle? I just found out today. The lyrics are excellent. And they were just the perfect thing today. I sat on the Harbor Steps and listened to the Dudley Manlove Quartet. They play an odd mix of classic swing tunes and cheesy disco songs. There's 6 of 'em. ?? Couple of horns, couple of gee-tars, a stripped down drum kit, and a lead singer whose name is not Dudley Manlove.

New Toy
I have the coolest new toy: a Handspring treo 300. It's a phone and PalmPilot in 1. This thing rocks. My old Pilot was so old, I had to cut it in half and count its rings to remember when I bought it. I was worried that my new 300 wouldn't work with my Mac. But, I've solved that problem (for now) by just beaming over my entire address book from the old PalmPro.
Suhrco still sucks.
Somebody found Suhrco management on my T.T.S. page and wanted to know why they were there. That's the old management company who runs Lock Vista. (the apartments building I used to live in) They're the most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with in my life. They are rude and inconsiderate, and they ignored my requests and complaints for over a year. As a result, I had to deal with the neighbors from hell that whole time.
2 more classes.
My Word class (volunteering) ends next wednesday. I can't wait. I'm over it. I will make sure to find fun things to do every Wednesday to celebrate my freedom. Woohoo!
Funny-ass flick.
Rent Super Troopers. thank me later.

Recycle your old cell phone
Old cell phones don't have to be trashed
Something as small and light as a cell phone doesn't appear to present an environmental problem. But consider: The environmental research organization Inform estimates that, by 2005, some 130 million cell phones will be discarded annually, amounting to 65,000 tons of trash. The batteries and printed circuits inside contain nickel, cadmium, and other toxic elements.
There's obviously a lot of switching. By one estimate, people change cell phones every 18 months or so. One in four customers changes carriers every year, a phenomenon known as "churn."
If you decide to get a new cell phone, try to keep the old one out of the trash. Find out whether a battered-women's shelter or other local organization accepts donations of old cell phones; many do, so that clients can make free emergency calls. The cellular industry's trade association also has a program called Return Outreach Initiative, which collects phones to be refurbished and sold or recycled. For information on that program, go to www.wirelessfoundation.org.

Sticker Project
2 strangers have emailed me about my sticker offer. I'm not sure where they found out about it. But, they're getting free stickers! Have you joined my posse yet?

Note to self:
It's probably not a good idea to keep the Lysol and the Right Guard deodorant on the same shelf of the bathroom cabinet.
I can't tell you how many times I've nearly made my armpits "Spring Waterfall" fresh while killing viruses, bacteria, mold and mildew... when all I wanted to do was stop sweating.

Yahoo! News - NYC Mayor Wants Tougher Smoking Law
Let's do this in Seattle too! Smoking in restaurants doesn't seem to be as bad here as it is in Atlanta. But, I'd love it if we had a bar and restaurant ban on smoking like they have in California. How bout it, Mayor Nickels?

GTFO
My white trash neighbor is moving at the end of this month. Her landlord sold the house to his brother-in-law. Yesterday, WTN (white-trash neighbor) came over to ask me for a favor. Her former boyfriend is in jail for beating her up. So, she asked me not to give out any information about them if he comes around looking for her when he gets out of the pokie. The boyfriend's buddies have already come by asking her where she's moving, etc. Hopefully, I won't have to deal with them.
Oh yeah,... did I mention that the jailed boyfriend is also a crackhead? Or that WTN's other ex is also a crackhead? She had 2 kids with that one. And, she's hiding from him too. All of this came out in our conversation yesterday.
FCG
I'm building a flying crank ghost for Halloween. I got some stuff at Home Depot last night. And, I'll use some scrap wood from my garage to build the braces/motor mount. It should be pretty cool. I don't know anything about electrical wiring though. So, I could end up electrocuting myself. But, hopefully not!

Great Shot
I wish I had my camera with me last night as I was driving home. There was an incredible sunset over the Olympic mountains around 9pm. Dark navy blue sky with a crescent moon.... the North Star just below... jagged mountains below that, with a pinkish orange strip of sunset sky outlining the peaks... smooth water of the shipping canal underneath me... silhouette of a seagull gliding by... and a slow boat cruising under the Ballard bridge. An amazing site.
Weekend rehab
I'm still recovering from the wedding weekend. It's not that I really overdid it or anything. It's just that I stayed out later than usual and drank more than usual.. and talked more than usual.. and ate more than usual.... etc.
It was a blast though. Mark and Jen are married and on their honeymoon now. Those 2 are perfect for each other. They're both very lucky.

Mini-me
I found this Lego site where you can make a self-portrait.
Wedding Weekend
My favorite Seattle people are getting married this weekend. I met Mark & Jen through Seattle Works. They're the coolest people; and a perfect couple, to boot. Tonight is the rehearsal dinner. (I'm going, since they asked me to be an usher) Tomorrow, they're having a get-together at the brewery. And the wedding is at 6. They also got us rooms at the Willows Lodge for that night. See, I told you there were cool.
One of my other friends wants to use my room for showering and getting ready. But, I don't think it was right to ask. I'm sharing the room with another usher.. so, it's only partly my decision. Plus, the room is a gift for being in the wedding. Should that privilege go to someone who's not in the wedding? I'll also have a small window of time between cleaning up after the brewery party and being over at the wedding site. So, if I have to wait in a big line to use my own shower.. I might as well come back to the house to get ready. What's the point of them giving me a room if I can't use it when I need it, right?
Or am I just being selfish?

Car Free Seattle
Their philosophy is that any city with a good public transit system and some bike paths could be car free. I don't know if I could ever give up my car completely. But, I do drive less since moving here. And, I ride my bike more; and walk more than I used to. When I do get another car, my next one will be a hybrid/electric vehicle.
