Lou Sartor

I teach U.S. History, AP Comparative Government & Politics, and AP U.S. Government at Henry W. Grady High School of the Atlanta Public Schools. I received a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of South Florida and a M. A. degree in History from Georgia State University. I am a former ACORN and SEIU organizer. Visit  the Georgia Peace Coalition web site if you are concerned about the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. See how one of my neighbors responded to my anti-war activities in 2003. Read my letters to the AJC: March 25, 2003, September 9, 2003, April 12, 2004, August 23, 2005, March 4, 2006, July 30, 2006, August 5, 2007, March 9, 2008 and April 19, 2008. I was an Eagle Scout who grew up on military bases (See a picture of me in high school). My father was a decorated USMC veteran who believed diplomacy was preferable to warfare. Read my thoughts from the March 2006 Nexus Magazine about life in our Gilded Age. Listen to Kevin Phillips and Chalmers Johnson explain the challenges we face as a nation. Unfortunately, we live in the modern era of The Corporate State and the Subversion of Democracy.
