Senator Richard Russell commenting on the case:

"I can only deplore the invasion of our state by conscienceless agitators from abroad who encourage such litigation and thereby divert our courts from their proper function.

I hope that the Atlanta school board will use every means at their command to resist this effort of the itinerant lawyers of the colored peoples' association to enforce an abhorrent alien doctrine on a people who are proud of their belief in the right of the several states to control their local affairs."
