Dragon Points (DP) are awarded for helping the game. They are like little coupons you can use. You can earn them by performing various behind-the-scenes tasks such as donating props, working at site cleanup and construction days, or bringing food for the NPCs. Ways to use Dragon Points are described on page 69 of the rule book, but here is a summary for your convenience.

 How to Use Dragon Points

• You can get a discount of $1 per Dragon Point off of your event fee! There is a limit to how many you can spend, though. For Weekend Events the limit is 5 DP. There is currently no DP discount available for Fair Days or Modules.
• You can "bribe plot" in a couple of different ways:
• It will cost you varying amounts of DP if your character's history will cause plot headaches or might provide an in game benefit.
• If you can not find an Instructor for a Common or Uncommon skill, you can bribe plot to send one in.

• When you check out from a DC event, you can use DP instead of silver to buy additional experience points for your character, at a rate of 1 DP per XP.
• You can get cash at check-in at 2 DP per 1 silver.
• You can buy certain production items during check-in. Costs vary according to the components required to make the item. It costs 2 DP per common component, 10 DP per Uncommon Component, and 100 DP per Rare Component. ONLY the following production items can be purchased with DP:
• Common Weapons, Weapon Repair Kits, Armor, Armor Repair Kits, Talismans.
• Common, Uncommon or Rare Poisons or Traps (but NOT Formulae for them).
• Scrolls or Potions (but NOT Formulae of any type, including Memory Formulae) during check-in, so long as the Scrolls and Potions have both the EFFECT and the PATH as Common, Uncommon or Rare (with the exception of MOON, which has additional restrictions).
• You can buy an Investment, if you have an appropriate Contact, at 2 DP per 1 silver.
• You can fund caravans at 2 DP per 1 silver.

It takes a lot of props to run a Dragon Crest game, from weapons and spell packets to tabards and make-up. See the table below for commonly needed items and the associated DP rewards. Please note that the base DP awards listed assume good workmanship and quality of materials. Mediocre workmanship and/or cheap materials will drop the value. Superior workmanship and/or materials will increase the value. Items marked as an urgent need will receive a bonus, usually twice the usual rate of DP.

Please refer to the Weapon Construction section of the Dragon Crest rule book for instructions on making any of the weapon items. Higher DP awards are given for claws and weapons made with kitespar cores.

Light-weight, tight weave, poly-cotton material is preferred for packets. Packets should be filled with approximately 1/10 to 1/8 cup of bird seed, preferably without sunflower seeds (either filter out the sunflower seeds, or buy birdfeed labeled "Finch Food). Any other filler is not acceptable.

All tabards should be hemmed and have well-finished seams at a minimum. Use of bias tape increases value, as do reversible designs, Guild insignia, or other fancy details.

NOTE: We have lots of new players who don’t have phys-reps for their weapons and could use some costume items as well. If we can build up a little more stock (or if we get some especially nice items donated) we will open up a pro shop and sell items for Dragon Points to folks without the time, skill, or hard cash to provide their own.
