Posthumous gift to James I of England in 1628 from Cyril Lucar, Patriarch of Constantinople, who obtained it in Alexandria when he was Patriarch there from 1602-1621. A Latin note on the first fly leaf indicates that it was given to the Patriarchal Chamber of Alexandria in 1098.
03 B
Codex Vaticanus

IV, eap (Heb 9:14-13:25, r is 1957). Tisch. Beap, Soden d1 (Aland: I, Soden: H)
Listed in the earliest catalog (1475) of the Vatican Library, which was found by Nicholas V in 1448. Because of connections to other codices in Cardinal Bessarion's collection, it is conjectured that Bessarion brought it from the East some time around or after 1438.
04 C
Codex Ephraemi Syri Rescriptus
Paris, Bibl. Nat., Gr. 9
V, eapr. Tisch. C, Soden d3 (Aland: II, Soden: H)

According to Rettig fide Scriv., it was part of the same book as 037 D (IX, e), still at St. Gall, and based on a Gaelic poem (many monks at St. Gall were Irish) about a disappointing pilgrimage to Rome, one candidate for the scribe is the Scottish Bishop Marcus or his nephew Monegal.
