Seinentai Dragon

aka: Sein



Seinentai is a small dark purple dragon. She commonly stalks the Dragon Realms carrying stacks of Magic cards with the intention of studying spells to cast on unsuspecting personas. Since January 1998, she has started adding to her spellbook the great spells of Ultima. In other words, after all these years, she is actually playing Ultima Online. She has been a Dragon since the fall of 1994--one of the original UDIC members.

In the old days, Sein used to spam unsuspecting Dragons with posts from the newsgroup. While this was once true, it is no longer. She doesn't have the time to even read Usenet anymore. Her Dragon activities have slowed to almost nothing these days, although she keeps in contact with a few selected Dragons. She has a whole new set of friends as a result of UO, though. She has threatened to do a UO webpage for years, but the game itself takes precedence. She has just taken over her Catskills guild webpage. She didn't design this webpage, but had done the News section and helped to maintain the message board. She plans to fix everything up...when she has time.

In real life, her name is Teri Takamoto. She is forty-something and lives in La Verne, California (30 miles east of Los Angeles). She works at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. The department she works in has undergone several reorganizations. Her job title has become Operations Specialist in Enterprise Computing. Besides operations duties, she somehow ended up working at the Help Desk.

Her outside (outside of UO, that is) hobbies include doing her own webpages, chatting online, Japanese pop music (Johnny's Jr. rulez!), the Kelly Family, photography, and collecting tons o' junk such as collectible card games and computer games. For ten years, she worked at computer shows as a booth bum, but that activity has also ceased. She moved on to Beanie Baby shows, but she just can't get up *that* early anymore. She also attends computer tradeshows such as Comdex, Internet World, and the Electronic Entertainment Expo. In January 2002, she added, of all things, Macworld to that list.

Seinentai still attends the local Strategicon gaming conventions three times a year. As a result, she has now become a webmaster! She originally arranged for the host ISP and has done a good chunk of the web content for the Weekend Warrior Game Company. That page hasn't been updated in eons either (sorry, Ken :-P). The free time has just disappeared. But the "job" has given her an opportunity to attend the annual Gen Con game fair in Milwaukee in recent years. She plans to go in 2002 as well.
