- Helped design and develop WinNEWT, a network modeling and
pricing tool used to develop sales proposals in the
field. WinNEWT is written with Delphi using BDE to store
data in Paradox databases.
- Developed several custom Delphi VCL components used by
several projects.
- Designed and developed a Windows installation program for
WinNEWT using InstallShield.
- Designed and developed several utility DLLs for use
by WinNEWT and the installation program using C and
Delphi.
February 1995 to November 1995 - Byer's Engineering -

- Designed and developed several modules of Byer's TRCS/2
CAD system, using Visual Age C++ in an OS/2 environment.
June 1994 to February 1995 - Lewis Consulting
Formed independent company to accept software engineering

- Wrote a Windows NT utility to convert data read in from a
mainframe generated 9-track computer tape to a Microsoft
Access database and several other flat data files used by
other programs.
- Primary software engineer in charge of implementation and
design of the user interface for a database lookup and
reporting utility for Windows 3. 1.
- Both of these utilities were written in C++ using
Borland's OWL class library, and employed SQL queries of
Microsoft Access databases using ODBC.
August 1987 to June 1994 - Carolina Lasercut Corporation
- 3703 Alliance Drive - Greensboro, NC 27407
Title - Systems Manager
- Responsible for design, installation, and maintenance of
networks for HP 9000 workstations and X-terminals at two
different manufacturing plants.
- Wrote a graphics terminal emulator for PC's using C and
8086 assembler.
- Developed menu-based programs, using HP-UX scripts, to
load CNC code into various controllers, and to allow
customers to transfer CAD files via modem.
- Wrote various conversion programs in C and FORTRAN to
allow CAD drawings from other systems to be read into the
company's CAD system.
- Designed reports for Symix (a manufacturing accounting
package written with Progress 4GL, running under AIX on a
PS/2).
- Developed an error-tracking database using Borland
Paradox for Windows.
- Developed custom CNC subprograms for cutting families of
parts on Anorad and Fanuc industrial machine controllers.
- Developed numerous Interact CAD system macros.
February 1984 to August 1987 - Holiday Steel Rule Die

Title - CAD operator
- Primary duty was the design and layout of paper-board
folding cartons using an Interact CAD system.
- Developed macros for Interact CAD system.
- Developed a floppy disk based database, using PASCAL, to
catalog the floppies used to store CAD files for old job
orders.

parts on Anorad controllers.
