Animal Tips of the Month

ALWAYS spay or neuter your pet.

Have your pet examined and vaccinated regularly.

Don't forget to provide a cool, dry shelter for all your outdoor animals. And don't forget to keep plenty of fresh food and water readily available.

Summer is the time for fleas and ticks. Be sure to not only treat your pet, but also the living quarters, bedding, and surrounding areas. Infestations of fleas and ticks can lead to serious medical complications. Get rid of those pesky critters!!

For indoor pets, be careful of plants and household cleaning supplies which may be harmful, or even fatal, if swallowed.

When thinking of adding a new animal member to the family, don't forget to check the homeless animals at the Lawrence County Animal Shelter.
