Korean War Era Soldiers
(1950 - 1955)

last updated July 25, 2004

"Lawrence [County] had come back after another war and hoped for continuing peace, but it would not stay that way. Edison Hunnicutt, who had studied about Korea as a youth in school at Webbville, passed away in that distant land in the fall of 1946 while military and political representatives of two world forces haggled over the fate of that divided nation. It bounded into the lives of all Americans with the outbreak of hostility between democracy and communism in 1950, and Lawrence saw its boys march off again to do battle." (source 3)
