Welcome to the home page of the Lawrence County Humane Society and the Lawrence County Animal Shelter. Just by stopping by you have indicated that you share a concern for the well-being and care of animals. We thank you for your interest and hope that you will decide to take an active part in our goal to care for as many helpless animals as we possibly can.

The Lawrence County Humane Society is made up of community volunteers. Even though there appears to be a conflict of interest, they run the Lawrence County Animal Shelter. With minimal financial assistance from the county, the Shelter must pay for 2 employees, utilities, food, supplies, vet expenses, and other general operating costs. HERE'S WHERE YOU CAN HELP!!

Why not include the Lawrence County Humane Society in your list of annual contributions this year?

And, whenever you go to your local food or pet store, buy an extra bag of cat or dog food (or any other pet food product) and bring it to the LC Animal Shelter. It's so easy to do and you'll help a few more little friends not go hungry tonight.

Even though the Shelter is a small facility, we assure you that the LC Animal Shelter is managed in the most professional manner and is kept in spotless condition and good repair.

Hours of operation at the Shelter are 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM most week days, and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday. We are located on Isaac Park Road off US 23 or Route 32 (Route #6) just South of Louisa. Visitors are always welcome so come by for a visit, or call us at (606) 673-4509. There will be a Rabies Clinic on May 6, 2000 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM with Dr. Mark Ratliff.
