MORE THAN YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT DOWNLOADING FILES
Downloading large files is usually done from an ftp site because the space requirements for a file on a web (http) site are prohibitively expensive. But unless you have the right programs, you browser will try to play (stream) the file rather than download it. Here's what you need to download:
Internet Explorer 9 - Right-click on file you want to download and select "Save target as..."
Firefox - Click on "Tools" - click on "Options" - click on "Applications" - select the type of application you want to download (e,g, windows media video or .wmv file) and choose "Save File" from the drop-down menu. Now any ftp file you click on will be saved rather than played. Glory!!
other browsers: let me know when you figure these out.
