Mark McConnell


Mark McConnell is principal trombonist with the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, the Gwinnett Philharmonic and the Columbus Symphony.

He is also a member of the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra.

Mark received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, where he was a student of Per Brevig and Edward Herman. His teachers also include Steve Norrell, Mark Lawrence, John Engelkes, Harry Maddox, Mike Moore, Vernon Forbes, and Duane Miller. A former member of the Oakland Symphony, he has also performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, New York Philharmonic, and the Metropolitan Opera.

In addition to his busy performance schedule, Mark serves as Orchestra Personnel Manager for the Atlanta Opera, and is an active contractor in the Atlanta music scene.
