Notes on Characters:
Morgan La Fay

From John Steinbeck's The Acts of King Arthur and his Noble Knights

Morgan La Fay was:

  • Arthur's half-sister
  • Dark
  • Handsome
  • Passionate
  • Cruel & Ambitious

She studied necromancy in a nunnery and became proficient in the dark magic (necromancy is the magic dealing with the dead).

She enjoyed bending and warping men to her will through beauty and enchantment, using men against men.

When magic failed, she turned to treason and murder.

She was married to Sir Uryens.

She hated Arthur's nobility and was jealous of his crown.

*Morgan's tale in Steinbeck's text describes how she imprisoned Arthur and used Excalibur against him almost equaling his death [with the scabbard esp. important].
