Court Judgement against Masatomo Yamazaki: June 3, Oita Court Decision
On June 3, the Oita District Court (Kyushu) ruled against Masatomo Yamazaki, ordering him to repay funds borrowed under questionable circumstances, according to a translation of the Seikyo Shimbun, June 8. The court accepted the entire claim of the plaintiff, a woman in Oita Prefecture. The court ordered Yamazaki to repay 5.5 million yen in addition to a fine for the delay of its repayment.
Throughout the civil case, Yamazaki’s lies, deceits and fabrications were entered into the public record. The court found that in 1985 Yamazaki used deception to manipulate the plaintiff into loaning him 10 million yen. Yamazaki forced her to issue a notarized statement of indebtedness for the loan. The name of the debtor was not Yamazaki but another unrelated individual. In order to avoid putting his name as a debtor, Yamazaki forged a document. The plaintiff was unfamilar with legal procedure and fell for the swindle.
In addition to the initial 10 million yen, Yamazaki continued to “borrow” from the plaintiff, in total about 20 million yen. She finally sued for the return of 5.5 million.
Yamazaki’s defence was the notarized statement, claiming he was a mere intermediary in the loan. The Oita court rejected this defence, citing "contradictory and intentional fabrication" of his evidence.
Who is Masatomo Yamazaki?
At one time Yamazaki was a legal adviser to the Soka Gakkai. In the late 70’s he attempted to engineer a split between the Gakkai and Nichiren Shoshu. His objective was to personally control the Soka Gakkai.
Yamazaki served three years in a Tochigi prison for extortion of the Soka Gakkai. Prior to his sentence, Nikken referred to him as a “liar.” However, during the preparation of Operation C, Nikken arranged for an apology to be delivered to Yamazaki in prison.
Since the split Yamazaki has worked together with Nikken in attacking the SGI. For example, in the May 16th issue of Emyo cited in this newsletter of June 6th, Yamazaki is the only source given for information on Sho-Hondo financing.
Yamazaki also encouraged the Nobuhira suit against the SGI President and arranged the link between the Nobuhiras and sensationalist media.

Court judgement against Masatomo Yamazaki:
Commentary by SG Young Men’s Leader Sato [the following is adapted from the Seikyo Shimbun June 8, 1998, used without permission or authorization.]
Mr. Sato said:
Masatomo Yamazaki abused his position of Soka Gakkai legal adviser and served three years imprisonment for blackmail. Having earned large amounts of money dealing in Fujinomiya cemetery plots, Yamazaki then started a company that traded in frozen-foods. Due to his amateur and careless management, the company went bankrupt leaving several billion yen in debts. During that time, Yamazaki business practices included illegal imports, fraudulent bills, confidence scams, over extension of dishonoured bills, involvement with organized crime, and falsifying accounting records.
During the extortion trials Yamazaki made a series of false testimony. The court sessions revealed his fabrications. The Tokyo District Court’s final judgement stated “the accused Masatomo Yamazaki showed not the least sign of regret for his actions by inventing weak excuses and submitting false evidence. This case is the most serious of its kind and the responsibility of the accused is truly grave.”
Further, Yamazaki was re-arrested for violating terms of parole in March 1986. He was caught mah jong gambling.
After parole in 1993, Yamazaki conspired with Nikken, anti- Soka Gakkai political factions, and tabloid journalists to bash the Gakkai. It is clear now that the baseless Nobuhira charges were also plotted by Yamazaki behind the scenes.
Look at the present situation of all the conspirators against the Soka Gakkai: - Nikken is disgracing himself in court for the case he himself filed.
- The Nobuhira claims were rejected by court.
- The notorious tabloid magazine Shukan Shincho has long served as Yamazaki's willing media tool. The Supreme Court ruled against Shuchan Shincho in the case of libel for its violation of the rights of a Soka Gakkai member in Hokkaido, Nobuyuki Shiroyama.
All of them naturally deserve these consequences. At the same time, all those in collusion with Yamazaki are now heading down the path to pitiful ends. And finally with the judgement of the Oita court, his mean and base true colours and character are now public.

The full story behind the grave slander of the Buddhist law by religious and political authorities as exploited by the cunning and betrayal of Masatomo Yamazaki
"When the Latter Day of the Law begins, if there should appear a person who practises the True Law, then those who uphold false teachings will appeal to the ruler and his ministers; And the ruler and his ministers, believing their words, will revile that single person who upholds the True Law or attack him, send him into exile or even put him to death."
Vol.6, Major Writings of Nichiren Daishonin

Yamazaki, ex-attorney of Soka Gakkai was imprisoned without probation (2/25/1991) due to his extortion on Soka Gakkai.
Yamazaki was released on parole (4/27/93) and lived in Zenpukuji, a Shoshin-kai temple. He was under surveillance until 10/27, but started writing in tabloid (10/21) before the period of surveillance is over.
Around that time,
Yamazaki wrote a letter to Nikken, which was scooped by Chugai Nippou,
a non-sectarian religious newspaper in Kyoto.
Yamazaki wrote:
"I have no doubt that you are the legitimate successor of 66th HP Nittatsu. For the court case (Note: Nikken side sued Soka Gakkai in libel that Nikken's fame was damaged when Soka Gakkai published Nikken's photo surrounded by several Geisha Girls), all newssource on your women's scandals came from Rev. Kubokawa (President of Shoshin-kai). You have to take an appropriate action against him. If I am summoned to the court, I could testify whatever I want, but others may not. What I have publicized so far on the Shoshin-kai issue was only 40%, and 60% is still in my hand unpublicized. (Note: Here, Yamazaki threatens Nikken by mentioning that he holds the weak point of Nikken.)
Concerning the Shoshin-kai issue, I suggest that both Shoshin-kai and Nichiren Shoshu withdraw the legal actions unconditionally. Then, I suggest that you would pardon them by canceling the excommunication. I believe that a 70 % of Shoshin-kai priests want to return to Nichiren Shoshu. On September 27 (1994), I had a conference with a leader of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on the future anti-Soka Gakkai campaign. We are planning to attack Soka Gakkai on the budget committee meeting around November 11-13 during the time when the session would be televised nationwide. (Note: This actually happened in the Diet exactly predicted here.) This is the declaration of war against Soka Gakkai, and we will continue this until we could summon Daisaku Ikeda to the Diet as a witness.
I have been meeting leaders of various religious groups to form an alliance to surround and attack the Soka Gakkai. Several political figures are supporting this movement. (Note: 2 years later, this plan was carried out involving the former Prime Minister Murayama to launch "April Alliance - Shigatsukai" to collect votes for the LDP.)
In reference to tabloid journals, everyone in the Bungei Shunju company, including the president and editor-in-chief, hates Soka Gakkai. This would continue for another 10 years. Kodansha Pub. Co. is rather complicated, because it has published several Gakkai-related books. The hatred of Shukan Shincho Pub. Co. on Soka Gakkai is second to none, but it is rather difficult in dealing with the company. As to Kobunsha Pub. Co. the editor publishes anything as long as we give him a bribe. Since Nichiren Shohu became a small sect, it has to cooperate with other Nichiren Sects. I could serve as an envoy.
As to court cases, if you are challenged by Soka Gakkai, I advice you to counter sue the Soka Gakkai. As to the time of your resignation, it is important that everything should be done reasonably and logically. Then, after your retirement, I would like to accompany your leisure trip around the world. This is my earnest desire, and with which I am living everyday with content."
Interesting enough, what Nikken did etween 1994 and 1997 was exactly as written here. In other words, Nikken follows Yamazaki in all of his campaigns to attack Soka Gakkai.
However, for Nikken to have sued Soka Gakkai on Seattle Incident could be identified as the gravest "MISTAKE" of Nikken. Because he the plentif, he could not withdraw the case, because if he does, he will lose the case. This means "Nikken had a trouble with prostitute in Seattle in 1963." If he pursue the case, he has to appear the court, and he would be judged eventually that he has had a trouble with prostitutes. (Because two testimonies - Hiroe Clow and ex-police officer, Ronard Sprinkle - and a deposition by another ex-policeman, Victor Mayhle, all clearly identified that Nikken was there having trouble with prostitutes over the price of the payment of their service.
Indeed, Nikken was ordered to appear the Tokyo District court on 12/22/97 (cross examination by Nichiren Shoshu's attoney) and 2/2/98 (cross examination by SGI's attorney).
If he steps forward - Hell is waiting for him. If he steps backward - Hell is also waiting for him. Nikken must be in the Hell of incessant suffering.
Because of his greediness for money, endless desire for womanizing and jealousy against Soka Gakkai and President Ikeda, he excommunicated Soka Gakkai. Soka Gakkai is the only organization fullfing the will of Nichiren Daishonin, namely, to establish peaceful world based upon True Law - Rissho Ankoku. Since Nikken attempted to destroy this noble movement of Soka Gakkai, Nikken is now receiving its karmic retribution.
(1) Early 1997, Yamazaki was sued by a female member for not returning 25 million Yen which he borrowed. The member told that Yamazaki has no faith, and is nothing but a crazy womanizer and a swindler. (2) Between 10/1995 - 10/96, Yamazaki helped election campaign of LDP by conducting Gakkai-bashing campaign using this Association called, The Victims of Soka Gakkai Association" in which Kunio Naito, another long-term anti-Gakkai activist, was the director. LDP won the election campain and Yamazaki received a half-billion Yen from LDP. But Naito did not receive any. Naito is now accusing Yamazaki.
3. LIAR, BETRAYER AND MANIPULATOR
Yamazaki is an ingenious liar and betrayer who follows his own wealth and fame and seeks power. He betrayed Soka Gakkai and caused conflict between Gakkai and Priesthood. Then, he volunteered to be a mediator between both sides. Through this, he wanted to control both Gakkai and priesthood. He also utilized priesthood, which are naive concerning secular matters, to have made an enormous amount of profit (450,000,000 Yen).
When 66th High Priest Nittatsu passed away and Nikken Abe became 67th HP in 1979, Yamazaki approached him, but was rejected. Yamazaki instigated active young priests by saying that Nikken was not a legitimate successor of 66th HP Nittatsu. They attacked both Soka Gakkai and Nikken. Nikken excommunicated 170 active priests. These priests formed Shoshin-kai (meaning Correct Faith Association).
Because of power and money he obtained, he learned the taste of women. With careless and loose operation of his company, he issued numerous promissory notes, which became empty promises. He blackmailed Soka Gakkai twice to obtain cash to save his company. Finally Soka Gakkai accused him, and he was arrested. He was sentenced to 3 year's imprisonment without probation.
In 1993, Yamazaki was released from jail on parole, and lived in a Shoshin-kai temple. At that time, Nikken was failing in his "Operation C" to dismantle Soka Gakkai and recruits Gakkai members as temple's Danto. Therefore, Nikken needed a schemer to help attacking Soka Gakkai. Nikken apologized Yamazaki that he had once called Yamazaki a liar. Yamazaki approached Nikken by saying that he had no doubt that Nikken was the legitimate successor (He betrayed 170 priests of Shoshin-kai). The fact that Yamazaki wrote Nikken a letter from the Shoshin-kai temple indicates that Yamazaki is now threatening Nikken for money. Under sweet, flattering words, Yamazaki hid the words of threatening. Knowingly or unknowingly, Nikken had to follow Yamazaki's advices.
Nikken accepted his advice, and attempted to reconcile with Shoshin-kai. However, the Priesthood Council strongly opposed, because they were afraid that Shoshin-kai priests would take over Taisekiji. Nikken's plan failed.
4.YAMAZAKI USES GOVERNMENTAL PARTY TO ATTACK SOKA GAKKAI
In his letter to Nikken (which eventually leaked out and scooped by Chugai Nippou), Yamazaki proposed various means to attack Soka Gakkai using tabloid journals and LDP. Actually, what Yamazaki wrote in his letter took place in the Diet as follows:
Rev. Ohashi drank drove, crossed the centerline, hit a truck and died (7/21/94). The driver of the truck was happened to be a Gakkai leader. 40 days later, Yamazaki wrote a fabricated story in tabloids that a Soka Gakkai leader killed Rev. Ohashi by car (9/1/94). Then, this fabricated article of the tabloid was read by an LDP diet member, Jiro Kawasaki, during the session of budget committee while it was televised nationwide (10/11/94).
A Higashimurayama City council women, Akiyo Asagi, committed suicide (9/1/95) by jumping from the six floor landing. She had earlier investigated for pick-pocketing a T-shirt from a boutique store (6/19/95), and court appearing was scheduled on 9/5/95. It happened that she was an anti-Soka Gakkai activist. A total of 52 articles were published in several tabloids in a short time which all speculated that Asagi was killed by Soka Gakkai. These articles were read in the Diet on 11/7 at the council meeting for "Religious Cooperation Law" by two LDP delegates, Yoshiyuki Hozumi and Akihiko Kumashiro. Earlier that year. a member of Aum Shinrikyo spraid sarin gas in Tokyo metro train, killing 12 and injuring 5000. Using this incident, LDP proposed a revision of Religiou Cooperation Law to control religious organization under governmental control. LDP used Asagi's case to create an image that Soka Gakkai is a terrorist organization like Aum Shinrikyo. After thorough investigation, Higashi Murayama Police Station officially announced on 12/22/95 that the death of Asagi was a suicide. None of tabloids apologized their mistaken articles.
During the year of 1995, a total of 526 Soka Gakkai-bashing articles were published in several tabloids. Using these article as a smoke screen, LDP succeeded to revise the Religious Cooperation Law without much discussion (12/8/95). It is believed that Yamazaki played a major roles in conducting this tabloid Gakkai-bashing campaign.
Around 1994-1995, "The Victims of Soka Gakkai Association" was formed, and started promoting a vigorous anti-Gakkai campaign. Chugai Nippou soon found out that this Association used the same building and the same FAX number as those of "Association to Study Democracy" which Shizuka Kamei (a cabinet member; an LDP's right-sing extremist whose goal is to restore Shintoism as the backbone of Japan). Officially, Kunio Naito (Once a reporter of Mainichi Newspaper, but resigned; he has been writing numerous Gakkai bashing articles for money) was in charge of the Association to Study Democracy, but Yamazaki was handling everything. Between 10/1995 - 10/96, Yamazaki helped election campaign of LDP by conducting Gakkai bashing campaign using this Association. LDP won and Yamazaki received a half-billion Yen from LDP. But Naito did not receive any. Naito is now accusing Yamazaki. This association was not registered as the political organization, and thus, it is illegal to do election campaign. Kamei is now being investigated for the possible violation of the campaign law.
Yamazaki also wrote fabricated stories in tabloid (2/22/96) that Mrs. Nobuko Nobuhira was raped 3 times by Ikeda during the past 30 years. Her husband, Joko Nobuhira, took a legal action (civil case) against Ikeda. Court hearing is going on, and the fallacy of Yamazaki's story have been demonstrated by many witnesses and evidence. But Yamazaki has kept writing in tabloids the same fabricated story over and over again to defame Ikeda and Soka Gakkai.
Since Japanese judiciary system has a no juror-system, the judge has to make the sentencing. Sometimes, the court case takes 5 to 10 years, during which time Yamazaki could keep attacking Soka Gakkai using tabloid journals.
5.YAMAZAKI MAY BE PLANNING TO MAKE MONEY USING MINOBU-NICHIRENSHU
Yamazaki has had an ambition to form a new religious sect and control it from behind for his own profit. He attempted to execute his plan in 1973 against Rissho Koseikai, and in 1980 against Niciren Shoshu and Sokagakki. In both cases, he failed.
Yamazaki's next target may be Minobu Nichirenshu. In his letter to Nikken, Yamazaki had adviced him to tie with Minobu Nichirenshu. Interesting enough, this has been actively going on. Yamazaki has visited Minobusan Kuonji, the Head Temple of Minobu Nichirenshu several times. Yamazaki was even found in the nearby hot spa inn taking hot spa with several Nichirenshu priests. Then, Nikken's son, Shinsho Abe, and Hokkeko Union's Director Yanagisawa visited Minobusan Kuonji, in 1995. In 1996, High Priest of Minobu Nichirenshu was invited to Taisekiji to worship the Dai-Gohonzon. Yamazaki was there, too.
What does this mean? Are Niciren Shoshu and Nichirenshu going to merge? Well, Yamazaki knows that the majority of Nichiren Shoshu would not want to merge with Minobu Nichirenshu because of long-lasting antogonism between them. Most likely, the scinario is that, using authoritarian power of Nikken, Yamazaki wants to open a way for Minobu Nichirenshu believers to be able to visit Taisekiji for worshipping the Dai-Gohonzon. Then, Yamazaki may operate this new "Tozan" activity by Minobu members, and could raise a huge profit. This plan may split both Minobu Nichirenshu and Nichiren Shoshu. Yamazaki does not care about doctrines. All he cares is to form a new "Danto" group which he could control from behind to make money.
It has been known that who ever work close with Yamazaki become a loser. Today, he is knows as "the god of plague" (or jinx).
For example, 170 of Shoshinkai priests, who were instigated by Yamazaki, were excommunicated by Nikken.
Soka Gakkai Study Division Chief, Takashi Harashima, was complemented by Yamazaki that he would be the next President. Harashima stole documents from Soka Gakkai and became rebell. But he was discarded by even Yamazaki, and is now suffering from diabetes and alcoholic.
LDP cabinet menber, Shizuka Kamei formed the "Association to Study Democracy." During 1995-1996, Yamazaki used this Association to direct the Soka Gkkai-bashing campaign. Because of this, LDP won the election, and Yamazaki received a half-billion Yen from LDP. However, this association was not registered as the political organization. It is illegal to do election campaign. Kamei is now being investigated for the possible violation of the campaign law.
When released from jail,Yamazaki wrote Nikken a letter with flattery, sweet words. Since Nikken needed an ally, Nikken took him in his side. Poor Nikken did not know that he would be utilized for Yamazaki's ambition. Previous examples showed that whoever took a side with Yamazaki were destined to lose. Shoshin-kai, Harashima and Kamei.. Now, this time, Nikken will be a loser. We will watch what kind of "trip" these two unprecedented liars are going to take. This sure will be a trip straight to the life condition of hell.

Deep Connection between Criminal Yamazaki and the Editor-in-Chief of Shukan Shincho was revealed by a non-Gakkai writer Staff Writer Mikio Watanabe (non-member) of Business Intelligence Magazine (July 1996 issue, page 102-105) wrote the following article: Anti-Soka Gakkai activists always use articles from tabloid weekly magazines such as Shukan Shincho. However, they must know that many non-Gakkai magazines are now criticizing the attitudes of these gossip magazines. So many people have already recognized how unworthy and even harmful these "tabloid journalists" are. Recently a monthly magazine, "The Business Intelligence" (Intelligence Publication Co., Tokyo, Japan, Tel: 3-3226-0251) published an article titled "The Study of Journalism: Deep Connection between Criminal Yamazaki and the Editor-in-Chief of Shukan Shincho". The article was written by a staff writer, Mr. Mikio Watanabe, a non-Gakkai journalist. He clarified the problematic attitude of Shukan Shincho in that it only pursues own profit using sensational fabricated stories. The important points are briefly introduced here. The ringleader, Masatomo Yamazaki was a criminal: One of the ringleader of anti-Soka Gakkai activists is Masatomo Yamazaki, ex-lawyer for Soka Gakkai. He was arrested because of intimidation against Soka Gakkai and sentenced to a 3-year term of imprisonment by the Supreme Court on January 1991. Consequently, he lost his qualifications as a lawyer. Yamazaki and Mr. Hiroshi Matsuda, the Editor-in-Chief of Shukan Shincho, has been personal friends for the past 18 years. Yamazaki is paid from Shukan Shincho for all these fabricated articles. Naturally, he always writes a sensational fabricated article for the purpose of increasing magazine sales. Yamazaki only tells stories that took place more than 10 years ago: For example, "Sexual assault incidents" reported on 2/2/96 were assumed to take place in 1973, 83, 91. Another example, " the relationship between Ms Watanabe and Ikeda" reported on 3/14/96 was more than 40 years ago. These stories were fabricated by anti-Gakkai Activists at that time, including Yamazaki himself.
Then, Yamazaki is using the fabricated stories again. Why are these articles about events, that were published long ago, presented as a topic of a magazine which is supposed to provide current and fresh information? Conspiracies by Diet members: An fabricated article regarding priest's death resulted from his drunk driving and another fabricated article on suicide of a city council woman, both of which were published in Shukan Shincho, were brought to the Diet by LDP members. LDP members showed the Shukan Shincho, which carried fabricated stories, to the TV camera while the diet session was televised nation-wide, and criticized Soka Gakkai as a terrorist organization. Former article was used in the diet in October 1994, and the latter article was used in the diet in November 1995. LDP has been using these fabricated stories for winning in elections. Mr. Shizuka Kamei, a right-wing LDP diet member, has established the "Alliance to Examine the Article 20 of the Japanese Constitution" in the 1980's. The Article 20 deals with freedom of religion. His purpose was to make the Yasukuni Shinto Shrine the State Religion. Kamei also criticized the Soka Gakkai and Ikeda in the General Meeting of "Shigatsu-Kai (April Alliance, which was also established by Kamei in 1993) on 5/14/96.
It is apparent that the Soka Gakkai issue has been manipulated by politicians since the 1980's. This is quite natural since SGI members (in this case, electorates) of more than 8,030,000 families could affect the result of elections. Since Japan has recently adopted the election system based upon small-regions, their influence would be even greater. Incorrect Framing of Problems. It is possible that the Soka Gakkai has had some problems during the transition phase of organizational growth. However, it is almost meaningless to raise such old problems now. What really matters to us is how the Soka Gakkai has been changed. If it has not changed, it could not grow to a successful organization as we see it today. All those who criticize the Soka Gakkai and Ikeda rely on events that occurred several decades ago. These criticisms are nothing but evidence of "tabloid journalism."

ARTICLE FROM SGI-UK EXPRESS
"The Daishonin predicted that individuals who were once hostile to each other will join hands, and this, he writes, ‘Is in accord with the principle that men of great arrogance should end by bowing before their enemies’ (Major Writings, Vol.3.p170)"
Nikken has bowed before his former enemy, Masatomo Yamazaki, who had once denied Nikken’s legitimacy as high priest. Yamazaki, a former Soka Gakkai legal counsel, has served a prison sentence for threatening the Soka Gakkai. Nikken had previously said: ‘In September 1979, I discerned that Masatomo Yamazaki was in fact a fraud and an extremely villainous schemer. And I clearly told him, You are a great liar.’
In early January 1991, immediately after the priesthood issue erupted, however, Nikken apologized to Yamazaki, saying: ‘I’m sorry I said you were a liar at the time. Please forgive me.’ Similarly, Yamazaki wrote an ingratiating letter to Nikken - whom he lavishly praised - offering his services to the priesthood in its campaign against the Soka Gakkai.
Everything is just as the Gosho states. The appearance of such a combined army of devilish forces proves the identity of the Lotus Sutra’s votaries.
