I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I picked up a camera and a pen at about the same time in my life. Both provide a method for capturing the images that haunt the mind. In writing, images are interlaced with sensation and thought to provide a narrative; the relation between film and stage is obvious as one grew out of the other. Still photography has more in common with poetry. Both arrest the peak of a narrative, leaving the viewer or reader to speculate on what has gone before or happens next. The photographs I like best are haiku.

A general collection of my work can be seen on Photo.net.
