theatrical resources

You're a theatre producer, artistic director, actor, director, technician, or theatre aficionado, and you're looking for information on the Internet. Here are a few places to start:

Arts-On-The-Line

Resources for arts activists and producers.  Anyone connected with the arts should be familiar with their section on the economic impact of the arts. (Try $9.2 billion in New York City alone.)

Aisle Say

Theater reviews by critics from across the country, updated bi-weekly.

American Theater Web

A guide to theaters, productions and scenes across the country, plus a bookshop, callboard/message board, and chat (presumably about theater).

Back Stage

They call themselves the complete on-line theatre resource, but they're really about New York. Still, there's a lot of good information here, especially for professionals in the New York area. Casting calls (in New York). Box office listings (in New York). Show reviews (in New York and L.A.).

New York Theatre Wire

Guide to New York theatre scene, on and off-Broadway. Includes classifieds.

The Off-Off Broadway Review

All that good jive going down in New York City. Where it matters, man. Or something like that.
