Candle Magic for Healing Rituals
Charging a candle
with your individual personal power is very strong magic. So you can
imagine what a 'group charge' would be like!
When working in a healing Circle, I have brought both votitive candles
as well as pilar candles (usually white) for each memeber of the healing
Circle to charge.
Those candles, once charged, are then given to the person for whom healing
Circle was created. As the person is working through their illness or
recovering from a surgery, they can continue to receive the healing power
of the group by burning these charged candles throughout their recovery
process.
Here's how to go about
charging candles in a healing Circle.
- If symbols are going to be carved into the candles, do so before
charging the candle(s).
- Place the candle(s) within the Circle so it collects the
energy of other parts of the ritual that
are going on (chanting, toning, etc.)
- When ready to charge the candles, explain or show the process of 'charging a
candle' to those in the group not familiar with doing so.
- Pass the candles around the Circle allowing every member to fill each
candle with healing intention.
- The last person to charge the candle(s) should place them back where
they originated from (possibly an altar).
- Wrap the candles in paper towels so they don't get scratched up in
transit.
- Give or deliver them to the reciepient of the healing Circle.
