Creation Myth Meditation - June 21, 1996 by John T. Duncan I first met John at a Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship lecture in Raleigh, N.C. in March of 1997. John spoke this meditation that he originally wrote during a spiritual retreat in the Canadian Rockies during the Summer Solstice of 1996. John said the intent was to emphasize that we are all Star Children and co-creaters of our world and this earth. Thanks John, for sharing this beautiful piece of work. ************************************************************************ In the beginning there was only darkness. Then out of the darkness came the faint sound of a low pitched hum, and the darkness took on a blue tinge. The blue intensified and divided: lighter blue separating from deep blue-green. The light blue became the sky and the blue-green became the water. Underneath the water lay all forms of life not yet manifested: the Womb of the Earth Mother. Then the Blue Sky Father sent forth a fair Star Child, who came from the Center of All Love. The Star Child hurtled through the heavens and plunged into the water and became a Star Seed, vitalizing all of the life forms in the water. The land then rose up out of the water. Some of the life forms left the water to dwell on the land, and some stayed in the water. But all of the life forms carried 3 energies - the energy of the Earth Mother, the Blue Sky Father, and the Star Child. It was the Star Child's mission to teach the land-dwelling creatures about Love. The Blue Sky Father looked down and saw the Star Child struggling as an earth being. The Star Child was entangled in the briars of human patterns of behavior. So the Blue Sky Father sent an eagle from the East to the Star Child in a dream. In the dream the eagle lifted up the Star Child to show how the Blue Sky Father sees the earth, and the Star Child was changed. Later the Blue Sky Father looked down and saw the Star Child taking its earthly role entirely to seriously. So from the South he sent a coyote in a dream. In the dream, the coyote showed the Star Child that it is part of the Divine Plan to play and to have fun. And the Star Child was amazed. Then the Blue Sky Father looked down and saw that the Star Child was forgetting where it came from and who it really was, so from the West he sent a bear to the Star Child in a dream. The bear, who hibernates all winter, showed the Star Child how to go within and reconnect with the Center of All Love. And the Star Child was transformed. Finally, the Blue Sky Father looked down and saw that the Star Child had forgotten the source of All Things. He saw that the Star Child was afraid that its needs would not be met. So from the North he sent a buffalo to the Star Child in a dream. The buffalo, who met so many of the earth-people's needs, reminded the Star Child that all needs are met by the Great Provider. And the Star Child was fulfilled. And the Blue Sky Father saw that the Star Child now had all that was needed to teach the earth beings about Love. And so it was that the Star Child spread the message of Love far and wide. And as the Love spread, others took up the message and spread it even further. And as each one took up the message, he or she would remember that they too were a Star Child who came from the Center of All Love. And that is how it came to be that the earth was created and filled with Love.
