Saining Day* - Performed Febuary 5, 2000

On Saining Day they came once more
as they did in days of yore.
Witches, fairies and the like 
brought their blessings for the tyke.
Where she lay all gathered 'round  
and offered each a gift profound:

"Blessed Be our little one.
May you grow up wise and strong."
"May your world protected be
from all harm and misery."
"Peace on earth. We ask that you
might help to make that dream come true."
"With love for all, your life shall be
a shining star for all to see."

Before they left as they had come,
a bit of magick to be done
to conjure up a name so fair,
and set it dancing in the air.
And so it's said a star became
Called "________________" for the baby's name. (E.B.)


The Rite of Saining (*Celtic naming and blessing ceremony) was performed on 
this day, for a child, at Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
