Creating A New Spell - Dharma Rainchild 


This is the quarter call that I use when I am trying to figure out a new 
spell that I am writing: 

Stand facing north, or, if you are outside, face the moon if you prefer.
For a moment, envision the elements.  Think of their correspondences, and
imagine the spirits of the elements surrounding you:  earth to the north,
water to the east, fire to the south, 
and air to the west.  Close your eyes, and chant: 

  Spirits of Air, Earth, Fire, and Water, 
  I come to you, your own true daughter. 
  Show me the powers that reside in me, 
  Such is my will, so mote it be. 

I usually do this after I have invoked the Goddess and God, and before I
call the faeries.  I like it because it sets a good mood for working with a
new spell.
