The "duration" figures in yellow are taken at .050" tappet lift, the larger figure is the advertised duration. For comparison purposes, add intake and exhaust lobe centers and divide by 2 to calculate "camshaft centerline" specifications. |

Crankshaft end-play being checked. |
Double roller timing chain installed. The cam was degree'd and set at 0 degrees advance. |
Bottom end assembled with forged flat top pistons. Compression ratio is 9.9:1 |
Water pump and timing cover were polished and clear coated with Nyalic |
Timing cover and water pump installed and sealed with Permatex Ultra Blue. |
A high volume oil pump came with the rebuild kit. It required minor mods. (See larger photo) |
Stock valve covers are being used after polishing. |
Alternator was rebuilt and polished including the stock stainless steel fan. |
A few of the other polished parts. |
Piston to valve clearance was checked with modeling clay. After the engine is rotated the clay can be sliced and measured. |
Trick Flow heads and Crane roller rockers are installed and adjusted. 24# injectors are installed with the Trick Flow lower manifold. |
Manifold upper with 70mm Edelbrock EGR spacer and throttle body were installed next. |
ASP underdrive pulleys are used and a Motorsport A/C eliminator kit relocates the power steering pump to the original A/C position. |
A 72" belt fits just right with the 24% underdrive pulley set. Alternator will make full charge at 900 rpm. |
The engine is basically complete now. A Motorsport 'King Cobra' clutch set and ARP flywheel bolts are being used but they can't be installed with the engine on the stand. |
Various hoses, etc. added. Engine is complete except for ignition wires. Pro-M bullet 75mm MAF will be added after the engine is installed. |
