I am trying to get some information about the County Offices for Vital Statistics. Would you have the address to that County Office? My ancestor, Ebenezer SNOW, was born in Delaware but migrated to the Stokes or Surry County during the American Revolution along with his parents, William B. Snow and Martha Unknown. He volunteered in both Delaware and North Carolina. He married Sarah WICKER in Surry County September of 1783. Later I guess the area where he lived became Stokes County as I understand there is a deed dated March 8, 1796 signed by him, as one of the son's of William B.SNOW, in the records.
I am also looking for the birth certificate of the son of Ebenezer SNOW and Sarah WICKER named James SNOW he was born some time between 1801 and 1804 in either Stokes or Surry County, North Carolina. I am also looking for the marriage certificate of Ebenzer's parents, William B.SNOW and Martha unknown who married about 1752 in Surry County. William may have gotten a divorce from Hannah HAWKINS his first wife in Surry County as well. Thanks for any help. Jeanne

I'm looking for any information about 5th and 6th generation grandfathers, WILLIAM BURRIS (b.about 1764-d.Apr 23, 1846) and WILLIAM BURRIS SR. (?-?). Records may show a last name spelling of Burrus, Burrows, etc. I'd like to know if any land patents or deed records exist which would help find where their homes were. William Burris (1764) married Sarah POORE. I'm have reason to believe the Poore family were too from Stokes County. William and Sarah had a son named GEORGE BURRIS (b.Feb 12, 1790-Aug. 2, 1872) was born in Stokes county and married Lydia EWING. Eventually, George, his father William, and wife Lydia moved to Ohio. I'm researching a 5th generation grandfather, WILLIAM BURRIS (1763-Ap 23,1846). I was told by a researcher that William had once lived in Stokes County before removing to Kentucky for a short period, before finally settling in Jackson Co., Ohio. I am attempting to learn where he had come from and the names of his parents. I just spend some time tracking down data about another William Burris from the adjoining county, Surry. This William from Surry County was the son of John and Esther Burris, who were Quakers. It seems an unusual coincidence, but both Williams were living in adjoining counties, and both born in the same year, 1763. I'd like for someone who has data about the Stokes County William Burris to contact me to share informations about the colonial period Burris family from North Carolina.
