| The
"close batch" process is used at the
end of the day. The close batch operation
includes multiple steps, each of which must be
completed before the users batch is closed. First, the user
must balance the cash drawer. The Final Cash
Balance window displays the cash drawer amount.
After entering the amounts for each denomination
and currency, ReCaps will display the resulting
Over / Short amount.
Second,
the user must "drop" any excess money
from the cash drawer. The excess amount is the
amount contained in the drawer over the Starting
Cash amount. The "amount to be dropped"
displayed is calculated to be the Cash Drawer
amount minus the Starting Cash amount.
Third,
any item lists, which have accumulated, have to
be printed and then cleared. For example, if
there are still checks in the drawer that have
not been dropped, then they must be printed and
cleared (or dropped).
Fourth,
the cashiers final report is prepared. The
cashier must print the final report.
Finally,
after each step has been completed, the current
batch is closed and the Sign Out screen is
displayed.
At any
point during the close batch process the cashier
may "cancel". For example a mistake may
be discovered during final cash balancing and
corrections are necessary before closing. The
cashier can return to the process by again
selecting Cashier / Close Batch and then choosing
the appropriate step.
