As of August 21, 2005, Kirby is now a year old! Here's what he's been up to over the last several months:
By seven months of age, Kirby had figured out how to raise himself up on his front arms. It wasn't long before he figured out how to crawl as well.
It's springtime in Texas, and Kirby appears to be enjoying the bluebonnets.
Not long after Kirby learned to
crawl, he figured out how to stand by pulling himself up on furniture.
He's seen here doing it for only the second time, and he's very proud
of himself. It would take him several more months before he finally
figured out how to walk; in fact, he didn't take his first steps until
well after his first birthday.
Bath time is Kirby's favorite time of day. He outgrew this inflatable rubber duck rather quickly, however.
Hello from the cheap seats at Minute Maid Park! This is Kirby's first baseball game. Hmm... Kirby started attending Astros games in 2005, and the Astros went to their very first World Series in 2005. Coincidence?
Kirby enjoys his birthday cake. What a mess! Kirby's first birthday party was also a "housewarming" party of sorts, as Lori and I (with a lot of help from Lori's dad, my dad and Lori's brother Danny) finally got our house into a sufficiently presentable condition.
Several relatives came to wish Kirby a happy birthday, including his great-grandfather and his namesake, Kirby Harding.
