There are many reading groups all over the world. Some have existed for years, and more
and more are springing into existence every month. We've found that there are many reading
groups which also maintain websites. On this page we keep links to those reading groups
whose websites also link back to us. We also list several reading groups that we'd like to
trade links with. If you've got a reading group with a webpage, let's trade links! If you
link to us and we don't list you here, please mail jared.levy@stanfordalumni.org
and let us know! Books and Cooks Ithaca -- Begun in 1998, this is the group that Books and Cooks West has branched off from. Books and Cooks DC -- The third member of the Books & Cooks family, reading and feeding since February 2001. The Biblia Files -- An
online book discussion group, started with Books and Cooks as a core subscriber base, but
has expanded to include people from several countries with a wide range of interests. The Reading Group -- They have a more interesting name, but we're not sure how public they make it grin. Anyway, this group's been going for 7 years now, and recently put up a website (with pictures!). They sort the books they've read by author, date and category and sometimes provide short comments describing what they thought of their reading selections. Mostly, We Eat -- A New Jersey-based reading group that has been in existence since 1993.A Seattle Book Group -- Now four years and running, but their site hasn't been updated since August 1999. We hope they're still going strong! Reading Group Beauregard Parish Library -- There's a long list of other reading groups on the web at this site. Bay Area Book Group -- A dozen women in the Bay Area; their group has been meeting since 1988. Quill and Swill -- Great name. They've been meeting for about 10 years and seem to take the same informal approach that we do. |
