The State of the Union Address contained the expected drivel, as Bush attempted to sell his tax cuts and war plans, while sidestepping how much worse things have become during his first two years in office. The most obnoxious portion demonstrated the administration's complete lack of self-awareness.
We seek peace. We strive for peace. And sometimes peace must be defended. A future lived at the mercy of terrible threats is no peace at all.

If war is forced upon us, we will fight in a just cause and by just means, sparing, in every way we can, the innocent.
If you can stomach it, the Wage Slave Journal maintains a thorough Scorecard of Evil that ranks, on an evilness scale, various Bush administration policies (from Grim Amusements).

At least Jerry Thacker, whose views I discussed in my last post, withdrew from consideration for the Presidential AIDS Commission.
