Well, of course. Putting Ben Affleck in a fiberglass Cybertronian suit would just hamper his (already limited) expressive range, after all.
Anyway, while I do like how the poster plays up Earth being little more than another backwater battlefield for Giant Robots From Space to slug it out, I'm still keeping my expectations very, very low for this one. Michael Bay's an excellent director, but slavish attention to detail/original source material ain't exactly one of his trademarks.
Now Peter Jackson, OTOH... Is it just my imagination, or was his "King Kong" EXACTLY like the 1933 version -- except with improved effects and better characterization? Why, the damned thing's almost like an artifact from one of those Difference Engine-dominated alternate histories! Let's hope he gets signed on for that inevitable "Star Wars" remake in 2017 or so.
the good news: no strange speedos or silly costumed celebs here!
