Play "Shepherd!"
Here's a Shockwave game (about 70K) I've been toiling upon on-and-off for about a month now! Naturally, you'll need the Shockwave Plug-In (for Netscape or Explorer) to play... download one from Macromedia's FTP site if you don't have it. You should probably also have an '040 (or 486 IBM equivalent) machine; I tried running "Shepherd" on an '030 and the gameplay was just wretchedly slow.
As of right now, the game is still kind of limited. Sure, you can gleefully blow away the little alien zealots to your heart's content. If you're especially anxious to condemn yourself to a life of starvation, you can ALSO annihilate your droids too (not advisable!) But that's really all you can do for the time being. Eventually I'd like to add a recurring town and a "general store" (where you can sell your minerals, purchase more effective robots, discriminating weapons, etc.) some more difficult opponents (who have no moral qualms over utilizing tools MORE destructive than a wrench) and of course some nifty sound effects!
Needlessly detailed game info: in "Shepherd," you are a newly-arrived pioneer on an colony world, making a bid at economic self-sufficiency with a series of farm-droids that will roam over your homestead and extract precious minerals. Unfortunately, there are some rather xenophobic green-skinned natives who want nothing less than "your kind" kicked off their backwater dirtball of a planet. And to accomplish this despicable end, they are intent on reducing your robotic "flock" to useless junk. Of course they didn't count on your astute observational powers (OR your TAC-550 Destruct-O-Matic spatgun...)
