The 1996 Season.

This was the first year I tried to grow a large pumpkin. Not knowing about Atlantic Giant pumpkins, I bought some seeds at the local garden shop and began my quest. It was an interesting year. Along the way I discovered 2 solutions to ALL my problems. Having found several web pages about AG pumpkins, I knew that I must acquire some of these seeds if I wanted any chance of growing a giant pumpkin. In the mean time solution #2 would have to do. As you can see this is a most impressive pumpkin. It had great color and a perfect shape. My neighbors thought I was nuts. The pumpkin plants quickly out grew the allotted garden space and were taking over my lawn. Nothing else mattered. I was going to have a large pumpkin one way or another. This 97 pound wonder was big but with the help of my trusty computer anything is possible. Now I finally had a picture of my pumpkin to put on my coffee cup.
