The 905s germinated quickly but the 955Brinkley is the first seed ever not to germinate for me. I will try the second seed and hope it germinates. If not I will need to make a last minute change in my plant selections.
This 955 germinated but its now 2 weeks behind. I may have problems with pollination crosses but will worry about that when the time gets here.
905 is out in the patch and the 955 will follow in another week or so.
955 is very slow but out it goes. 955 progress lags behind.

Plant sizes are very different

27 May, left is the 905
filling up fast and 26 May,
955 growing slowly on the right.

28 May, left
955 on the right is something new for this year,
on 2June,
I started Soil
Soup, the plants love this stuff

2 June, the left picture shows the 905. The vines
are starting to grow rapidly so 4 days later I needed to enlarge the wind break
area.

8 June....955 (left) is looking better now that its out
of the house. I hope with it being out I can care for it better so it can gain
some lost ground
11 June....905 (right)

11June, 955 left, what a difference a couple days can make. 13 June 955 right , secondaries starting to run.

17 June, 905 (left) main wants to grow up and over the top. 15 June, 955 (right) looking better.

18 June (905 left, 955 right). Trying to correct the main on 905 while 955 tries to catch up.

20 June (905 left, 955 right). building a mound of soil/compost under the main of the 905 to prevent a snap while 955 spreads its wings.

24 June (905 left, 955 right) several feet of 905 main are now on top of a mound, 955 is finally big enough to remove the last of the weed supressing plastic.

25 June (905 left, 955 right) 905 needs lots of support but almost down. First male flower opens on the 955

27 June, terminating secondaries on the 905, 955 still has a long way to go. First female should open in a few days on 955.
29 June, both plants have females open on the main today. This will be the third on the 905 and the first on the 955.

1 July, 905 left, Secondaries reaching edge of the patch and get terminated. 955 right, filling in open space.
7 July, culled the first 15 day fruit from 905. It was a self pollinated fruit with poor position. First female opened on the 661Andrews plant and was pollinated with the 955Brinkley. This is a limited size plant for display only.

9 July, 905 main vine has reached the edge of the patch and silt fence removed. Won't be long and all the secondaries will be terminated. The 955 plant is making good progress but the picture was to fuzzy to publish.

13 July, 905 left, has nearly filled the patch. One of the 3 little pumpkins shown will be the 'keeper', time will tell which one. The center picture shows the end of the 905 main with 3 females in a row at sucesssive leaf nodes. All three open today. They were left for the bees and will be culled soon. 955 right, a wider angle shot shows the 66Andrews in the forground. Its' main runs to the right and one secondary was trained to run down the adjacent side of the patch. I remove all the other secondaries to leave room for the 955 in the back. Removed the silt fence from this patch today.
