Greenspan's 'job' isn't to get people jobs, just like the job of the USAF

I know you won't believe this, but I happen to be in favor of LESS
government. That includes shutting down welfare. IT ALSO INCLUDES
SHUTTING DOWN SOCIAL SECURITY. PERIOD. In my opinion, just about everything
the government does 'for us' would be better done... not by the STATE
government... not by the LOCAL government... but by the COMMUNITY!!! Back
in 'the good old days', if a person's house burned down, he knew he could
always stay with a neighbor, NOT in a YMCA!!!
Anyhoo, to answer your hate-baiting by implying that ANYONE is really
"promoting illegitimacy". People should be free to make their own
decisions. I don't think that includes children, because kids have to
learn, from their parents AND from other positive role-models and
influences in their neighborhood, how to handle living in this incredibly
convoluted thing we call society.
Believe me, Mr. "Republican", I am in favor of MUCH less government
"help" than even YOU!

Please, don't EITHER 'side' start yapping about whether taxes have gone
up or down. The current financial system is so monumentally twisted and
full of loopholes, backtracks and addendums that NO one can claim that
ANYTHING concrete has happened to "taxes" in the last 20 years. Every
time a new law is passed regulating commerce, people IMMEDIATELY start
looking for ways around it. Usually, the first ones to find those
loopholes are professional money-handlers; accountants; Merrill-Lynch
types; sometimes we end up with something called a "scandal", in which a
lot of individuals make a LOT of money, and it ends up costing someone
ELSE a whopper of money.
Financial regulation rarely works, but it usually seems to be noble in
original purpose. Let's not pretend to believe that ANYONE in government
is raising or lowering anything for the purpose of "punishing" us, the
taxpayers.

Because Dan Quayle was unique and funny: he was elected vice-president of
our country, and therefore was, as they say, a "heartbeat away from the
Presidency", and yet, time and time again, he would do, say, or write
something that was widely considered to be somehow inappropriate or "less
than efficient". That is classic "dumb-dumb joke" material.
On the other hand, "Whitewater" is one of a gazillion identical "rich
people in positions of power use their authority to attempt to become a
little richer by exploiting the leeway that OTHER high-end people will
give them and by exploiting the loopholes in the system(s)". BORING!!!
We've been having "scandals" like this since the dawn of time, honestly.
Yes, it's a scandal, and at this point, given the public nature of the
'defendants', trying to get an honest answer from ANYONE about ANYTING,
on EITHER side, would be well-nigh impossible. Do you think OJ is guilty?
Do you think his guilt is even an ISSUE at this point? Let's not start
talking about the legal system.
And while we're on the subject of "Rep/Dec Lib/Con" debates, let's just
put out a call for someone to even TRY and tell me that they can really
blame anything on "The liberal democrats", and so on! What the hell is a
"liberal Democrat"? I find it sickening that this country HAS "political
parties", and that most of the people blindy re-elect people 'in their
party', and really have no fucking clue what any actual INDIVIDUAL plans
to do after they get elected!
Weren't we taught in school that "anyone could be elected President"?
Well, I hate to break it to you, but that really isn't the case! You have
to become friends with a large number of "power-brokers" in EITHER
political party, and kiss their asses and play their games for decades,
and by the time you get enough support, NOT from the American people (who
are supposedly the ones VOTING), but from the OTHER Rich Fucks in that
party, that you have a chance at it, you've been playing those stupid
games for so long that you're lucky if you have enough "honest good
intentions" left in your head to pat your dog at night!
WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE PARTY CAUCASES? WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE almost
ALWAYS ONLY TWO PEOPLE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT? Why do we always worry
about voting for "the lesser of TWO evils"?
Anyone reading this and pegging me as a "liberal" OR "conservative" and
shove that peg RIGHT up their ass, because "pegging" is just another way
to not have to THINK! I say that the ONLY things the Federal Government
should be doing is protecting us from enemies too big for us to defear
ourselves! What does that mean?
It means National Defense! That's obvious!
It ALSO means laws preventing multi-conglomerate corporations from taking
over the goddamn country!! Am I against "corporations"? I think they have
their purposes... I ALSO think that, as a system, they are being
thoroughly exploited by Rich Fucks who use them to (sometimes literally)
get away with murder!!
Also consider the fact that, the moment a government gives APPROVAL of
the concept of "a legal entity" (a corporation), it is basically
permitting a group of people to join together, PROVIDED THEY HAVE LOTS
OF MONEY, into, literally, an unstoppable "superperson": a juggernaut of
"legal mumbo-jumbo". Is this "liberal talk"? No. It's the talk of a free
citizen who wants to be able to live a free, decent life. One might wonder
how, for instance, a Park might be protected. The individuals in a community
want to be able to walk their dogs and play ball with their kids, right?
A very Norman Rockwell scenario. Nothing political about it! It's a PARK!
THEN, let's say, AssCo, a corporation that buys and sells land, shows up.
It has gotten a bid from a factory-building company. THEY WANT THAT PARK!
So the corporation offers to buy the land from the government. No
palm-greasing, just a lot of legal wrangling. All perfectly "legal". But,
horror of horrors, the meddling townspeople find out! They decide to fill
a petition with signatures to FIGHT the destruction of their park. Well,
they don't get as many signatures as they want, because most people
"don't care to get involved", but they get quite a few, and they take
this petition to the local government. The assemblymen, comptrollers,
councilmen and other ineffectual politicos agree to "look into it". By
this time, there are already bulldozers parked in the park. Meanwhile, an
election is rolling up! The underdog candidate makes a visible issue of
the park! HE WILL FIGHT IF ELECTED!! Meanwhile, the incumbent (whose
administration, you may remember, approved the park's demise), not only
promises that the factory will provide jobs for the community, but also
promises tax cuts et al!
ELECTION DAY! THE INCUMBENT WINS! THE PARK IS DESTROYED! TAXES DO NOT GO
DOWN! THE FACTORY IS FILLED WITH MACHINES AND IMMIGRANT CHILD LABOR!
THINGS GO ON AS USUAL!!
Sounds like a fairy tale? Not really.
There are a lot of woes in this country that could be solved by "family
values". THAT I agree with.
"Family values", as they exist today, STINK. That I also agree with..
People today spend more time at work and with their co-workers than they
do with their spouses and/or kids. That's insanity. Television is a poor
baby-sitter, as I think we've all realized by now. Anyone who tries to
even IMPLY that spending 8 hours at work is worth not even knowing your
kids, no matter HOW much money you're making, is talking out their ass,
and is HELPING to destroy this country.
Don't give me any bullshit about work being "part of the system". America
has only been around for 200 years. Revolution and CATACLYSMIC change is
part of our Declaration and our Constitution. If you consider yourself an
American, then maybe you should stop playing all these name-calling games
and stand up for the rights of EVERY American. FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY!
Is money evil? No. Money is a convenient method of commerce. THAT's IT!
You want to know what makes me angry? Health insurance. Mortgages. The
idea that "buying-and-selling" is too simple and too efficient for
society today.
Do I pay for medicine when I'm sick? NO. YOU COULD NEVER AFFORD TODAY'S
DOCTOR BILLS. WE HAVE A BETTER IDEA. YOU PAY US EVERY MONTH, FOR NOTHING.
THEN, IF YOU DO GET SICK, AND NEED A $50,000 OPERATION, WE'LL PAY FOR
MOST OF IT. EFFICIENT, EH?
Do I own my own home? NO. YOU COULD NEVER AFFORD THE HOUSE, LET ALONE
LAND TAXES, PROPERTY TAXES, ETC. WE HAVE A BETTER IDEA. THE BANK WILL BUY
THE HOUSE FOR YOU, AND YOU WILL SLOWLY PAY THE BANK BACK, OVER A SPAN OF
DECADES, PLUS A CERTAIN EXTRA AMOUNT. IF YOU MISS A PAYMENT, WE PUT YOU
ON THE STREET. OR,
What if I can't get the bank to agree to that? WELL, YOU DON'T NEED TO
OWN YOUR OWN HOME! IF YOU LIKE, YOU CAN LIVE IN SOMEONE ELSE'S BUILDING.
THEY DON'T NEED OR WANT TO LIVE THERE, THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE MONEY. SO
YOU CAN LIVE THERE INSTEAD, AND PAY THEM A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY,
FOREVER. EFFICIENT, EH?
One of the BIGGEST problems with this country today, in BOTH "parties",
is that way too much is TAKEN FOR GRANTED. Anyone who says "that's just
the way it is" gets smacked. Nothing is 'just the way it is'. Things
change. Paying my life savings to keep from dying of a disease makes
sense, eh? I live across the street from a Catholic private school. They
have a HUUUUUGE track and field. It's well-kept and very pretty. The kids
who live in apartments nearby hang a basketball hoop on the fence
surrounding the field, and play "sidewalk basketball". WHY don't the kids
play on the field?
BECUASE IT IS _PRIVATE_ _PROPERTY_. The government says that someone,
becuase he/she/it (in the likely case of a corporate holding) has "dibbs"
on the land. They get to do whatever they want with it. And unless they
say so, you can't even TOUCH it.
It's a GODDAMN piece of DIRT! It's grass and trees and dirt! How can I
possibly take it for granted that 99.9% of the land in this country, (or
at least in NY) is "owned" by someone! I am TRAPPED!!! We're all
prisoners! We can't turn around or scratch our asses without asking
SOMEONE's PERMISSION!
This is supposed to be the land of the free. It CAN be. But it isn't.
Not yet.
